What speed is your pcu running at ? mine is at 1024000 (1Ghz) never had a hot reboot.. but i am still on Version: 1.10.14 MIUI.
Dunno if hot reboot has anything to do with temp ?

My phone is running at 600 min/ 1000 max all the time (minmax governor). I think it is highly unlikely to overheat, but I could be wrong though. Anyway, just now I was reading ebook on my phone, and then suddenly it hot reboot. It only starts happening on this latest 1.10.21 MIUI, older releases were fine.

In the X5 Settings>>CPU Frequency and Governor>>Governor TAB is their a choice called SmartassV2 ? If so switch to that .. and it could be 1.10.21 MIUI coz im still on 1.10.14 MIUI and its not doing it for me and i'm on my phone 24-7
Or download 1.10.14 MIUI again and install that one if you are more happy with that one .. i'm on it

Yup, I set back to SmartassV2 already, so far no hot reboots yet. Hopefully it'll stay that way. I think it could be due to franco.kernel, because a few people at xda are having this issue as well.

100x faster
SmartassV2 is best. just leave MIUI the way it is
it is 100x faster than the stock froyo with U8800... if u want a super fast phone buy a better one

Goto overclock menu -> smartass v2 and make lower and higher cpu speeds to 1 ghz. this is solved my problem and maximized battery life.
If don't work for you; wipe all caches and reinstall rom. this is my older solution. after that i am found overclock menu solition.
Enjoy.
