[BUGS] Official Bugs Report Thread

Here is a thread where we can discuss bugs for the new MIUI GB ports for the Nexus One. Keep in mind that some bugs/issues are from the MIUI developers themselves (China) and some are just issues that happen (by accident of course) by our Dev.

Here is a list of known issues and workarounds:

1. Illegible Text Bug where you cannot see the words - black on black or white on white
Solution: Go to Menu > Settings > Programs > Manage Applications. Then turn on the Compatibility Mode and that should use the app easier to read.

2. Unable to download from Market (or downloads in general)
Solution: Open the Downloads App that will be on one of your homescreens and hit the menu button and tell it to download via mobile network. Sometime this sticks and you need to toggle it on and off again.

3. No FM Radio App
Solution: Nothing that has come so far - sorry folks. Plenty of Radio app alternatives in the market.

4. GPS issues. No lock and/or no navigation.
Solution: Latest fix is to grab the new leaked GPS driver This may be fixed now due to drivers being added to current builds.

5. Missing Apps/Icons/Chinese Labels
Solution: Reboot fixes issues 98% of the time. If not follow steps below.

1. Wipe as required (dalvik and cache coming from MIUI, everything coming from anything else)
2. Flash ROM
3. Flash any kernels, mods, add-ons, etc.
4. Reboot
5. Use the phone a bit to discover any inconsistencies
6. Reboot into recovery
7. Fix Permissions (ROM Mgr>Fix Permissions) (AmonRA recovery>Other>Fix apk uid mismatches) (Terminal>type su>enter>type fix_permissions)Thanks 4 the reminder itlnstln!
8. Look around again, most issues will have been remedied (missing apps, Chinese labels, graphical errors, etc.)

If any app icons are still missing use the spyglass button to search for the missing app.

1. If the app appears in search results, you will need to slide other icons around to discover the missing app icon hiding underneath
2. If the app does not appear in search results, you will need to reinstall the app

6. Green lines on MIUI Front Facing Camera (FFC)



Solution: Resize picture output

1. Open MIUI Cam
2. Choose FFC
3. Press arrow (bottom right)
4. Select Settings
5. Select Picture Size
6. And try another size from what is already checked (seems most are having success with 1M 1280x1024 (5:4))

You should be good.



7. [Minor] There seems to be some lag when scrolling through settings.
You could try a different kernel to see if that helps out.

8. SMS Contact Pictures - [Minor] Weird bug where the SMS app is not showing any Facebook pictures, only the ones that you manually set via a picture you have in the gallery. The easy solution to this (and handy overall) is download SyncMyPic from the market and run it!

I found a small bug on the translation.

My In-call screen is showing the top of the white box from the reject call feature, the text is too long so the white box gets too big.

Can you guys rename the string to "Reject with SMS"

I have had this happen, but not consistently on my nexus one -- Or it responds erratically when I go to hang up (the lock screen is there but irrelevant, I can still hang up but then the phone locks and needs the unlock slide).

My solution was to load a different theme (the nice black one with the dragon) and not reload the 5 way unlock. Now it works perfectly, just no 5 way thingy, which ironically, i wasn't using anyway due to force of habit of unlocking and going to the main screen where I have my icons. By the time i realized that I didn't use the 5 way lock thing, I was already into the app, lol. Like the dragon theme though

Flashing 6.24 over 6.17 left Chinese in the notifications. Full wipe and then flash 6.17 was ok, no Chinese, but as soon as I restored my apps and data with TB the Chinese came back. Only solution I found was to flash miuiandroid's language pack over the top.

Wow, strange bug..... I had used the nexus one for a lot of calls today. Went to call my son, this evening when picking him up from work and it appeared that once it answered it was dead, It showed connected, but on my end it seemed the mic and speaker were dead. It turns out, he could hear me, but for all intents and purposes there was no speaker either on normal call mode or speaker phone. A reboot did not fix it.

I loaded rom manager and loaded a back up of this version when I loaded it last Friday. Once it reloaded the 1.7.1 backup, everything worked again. I have no idea what caused that
I probably should have grabbed a logcat of it before reflashing the 1.7.1 backup, but I needed the phone to make a call right away.

It appears that the sounds for the alarm clock do not always stick. I need to keep adding and deleting alarms until one of them finally retains the chosen ringtone.

go into edit theme. You should be able to download specific aspects (icons, etc) and apply them. I believe this is miui china rom specific and I have read it is being worked on. Otherwise, you could always flash back to 1.7.22 if you need that for now .

When I receive MMS images, they are tiny. Thumbnail size. I have read many threads in many forums and there has never been an official fix that I have found.

Could this please be passed along to the author of the ROM so this can be addressed and hopefully fixed?

Lickily, I haven't noticed that in either .23 or .30 so far. I use beautiful widgets on my home screen and it appears to be working all right. I often also flash cyanogenmod nightlies and noticed that problem in the 200-203 builds
