I have always had this question while upgrading..

Can we restore all apps + data from MIUI Backup? Wont it cause any force close problems?

I usually take a backup everytime I do an upgrade and restore all apps from backup. But still I face force close problems...so I have to uninstall those apps and re-install from market..i have like 200+ apps which is a real pain.

Could you please list out what would be ideal to restore after an upgrade? in terms of System, Apps & app data?

Yes it is safe, after it is finished ,hit the finish button and reboot (may want to un-tick contacts if you backup with google.)

I'm considering making the switch from my SGS4G to a Vibrant to save some $$$ on monthly T-Mobile bills, not to mention I absolutely love MIUI and it's pretty crippled on the 4G phones as of right now. I'm seeing a lot of custom MIUI ROMs, but I would feel much better flashing the stock MIUI ROM that you've posted here, especially if it updates seamlessly whenever they come out with a new version. I was wondering if there is anything wrong with the stock ROM, as far as GPS goes. As far as I understand E911 may not work (no big deal), but I do rely pretty heavily on GPS. Is that where the custom MIUI ROMs come in? Or is it decent on the stock MIUI ROM? Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, just wanted your expertise. Thanks!

not sure anything is gaaunteed seamless, but I can dial 911 from asheville NC. GPS is a little wonky but everything else works just fine.
