When you undervolt by 25mV and then 50mV you are undervolting by the sum of the total undervolts your perform.
You can also check your undervolt (and CPU min_freq, Max_freq, governor etc.) using Root Explorer and navigating to this folder: /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/
There'll be a whole lot of files inside, look for the last file. It's called vdd_levels it has your current VDD levels per CPU frequency. To read the file: long press and select 'view as text'. Btw the files called min_freq, max_freq, and governor will show you your CPU over/under clock settings.
Also be aware that sign of too much undervolting include: phone freeze on boot or soon after boot, sudden reboots, slight pulsating of your screen, poor performance on apps (it's a bit subjective but still worth noting). But the good news is that you can't damage your CPU by undervolting, so you can play around.
Although I run a DHD, the principle is the same. I had my phone undervolted by -250mV but after 3-4 sudden reboots per day I reverted back to a safe -50mV.
Lastly, have you checked an awesome app called Vipermod, it's a script with a UI that is accessed via Terminal. Allows you to change your voltages across the CPU frequency range or to change individual frequencies. Lots of fun: Vipermod

LorDModUE V3.1|ALL AOSP ROMS|OFFICIAL 2.6.35.13
Also, if I may add, and if you're into getting the best from your phone with custom mods. It's well worth checking out LorDmod's UE kernel. It's stable, blazing fast, superb support, and dev'd by a master of his trade. I'm running it for a few months now and never looked back. Runs on any AOSP rom:

Well, thank you for your interest and for giving advice. Unfortunately, as the title of this thread states, this thread is about the Evo, and the LorDMod kernel is for the Desire, so it won't work for us. If LorDMod decides to make an Evo kernel, I'm sure people here will be willing to test it out, but until then, this doesn't really apply to us.

I have done everything that you have done. I score 1226 on the quadrant, and my Evo 4G is running better than ever! Thank you so much for this!

I followed the instructions and now I get 'insufficient storage' error when downloading from market. Internal storage is 547mb and A2SD+ total space is 457MB. I formatted my sdcard to EXT4 with 12.28GB of space left. I am thinking a2sd is the problem.

So I'm sorta a noob. Read through the articles and everything referred to Amon RA...what about if I'm using twrp? I really like twrp but don't know what kind of effect this will have if I'm trying to partition SD/internal storage as some of you are talking about here. Also, how beneficial is the MTD partitioning for speed? I'm looking for speed on my evo, but if it doesn't really matter then I'll forget about it.
Thanks for help
*update* running evo with 1.9.2 miui and tiamat kernel 4.0.7 so I'm also interested in how this effects miui 1.9.2Last edited by zalutz; 09-08-2011 at 11:53 AM.
