Why call BS? Instead why not try the set up for yourself and see if it works? He doesn't get any prize by coming in here and posting his method, so no incentive for him to fabricate anything. If there is one thing I have learned at this point it is that you can never discount any possibilities and no two EVOs behave even remotely alike. I regularly saw 26+/- hours on my EVO with the Savage 1.6 kernels so I don't see why another 4 hours would prove impossible.
...nothing is perfect...nothing is complete...nothing lasts forever...

I had 2 quick questions. I saw that S-Off is required, I rooted with Un-rEVOked, do I have what is required? And when you say to wipe and flash when upgrading ROM's or kernels, do you just mean wiping cache?

when you reboot into bootloader (before you select recovery when powering on while holding volume down) you should see on the top of your screen either s-off or s-on.
when upgrading ROM's of the same build (i.e. last weeks MIUI build to this weeks), you only need to wipe cache and dalvik cache.
when changing ROM's completely, you should always perform a data wipe as well

thanks for this guide, I did it before I flashed the update and I already notice that my RAM seems to be less bogged down and I haven't had to hot boot yet. Glad I bit the bullet

I updated the thread with the latest setup I'm running. MIUI is smoother than ever now and I'm getting a few more hours of battery life with Tiamat's latest kernel. I did some research and trying out the 200/100 MTD partitions is actually fine, and it could even be run as a 175/75 partition. I know that MIUI 1.5.27 takes up about 105mb of space so 175 is plenty... any takers for this experiment?

Since the new ViperMOD has came out, should we use that? or continue to use 2.2?

Recovery Setup: 1024mb EXT3 partition with 128mb cache swap size

06-01-2011, 08:17 PM #34You change this with Amon RA when partitioning the SD card. I'm running a 512mb ext4 partition now fyi.

So after I flashed the new MIUI, I tried flashing the Tiamat kernel then the MTD after, and now I'm stuck in fastboot?
Any ideas?

No not bootloop. Every time I reboot it goes to fastboot.
I'm trying everything all over again and will report.
