For the record, my method only takes a minute or two as well. I don't personally believe in spreading warez for the sake of convenience. I'd rather install Swype the correct, legal way than as warez.

So I can go to jail for downloading that omg.... Lol.... Since when is doing things simple was wrong?

There's nothing wrong with doing things simply. It's only wrong when it's illegal, like when you warez an app like Swype.

What makes it illegal? Its not sold any where... swype doesn't offer am option to pay...so in my eyes what's illegal.....nothing..thank you again

Uninstall Swype now. This is what always works for me:

- Install Swype fresh again.

- After the keyboard installs, press Finish.

- Go directly to Settings -> System -> Language & Input Settings

- Change the current keyboard to Android Keyboard. NOTE: If you have opened the keyboard before this point, you have to uninstall Swype and start over or you'll get the license error.

- With the keyboard still set to Android Keyboard, open any text field (browser, search, SMS, whatever).

- Long press the text field.

- Choose Input Method.

- Change the keyboard to Swype.

- Test it. If it doesn't work, you'll have to uninstall and start over, but it should work fine.

Worked great for me on the newest version of swype 3.25!

I still don't get why most people have problems installing it. Every time the beta is updated I just uninstall Swype, go to the installer and it will update itself. Then it will fetch the new version of Swype. Done it a million times, never failed.

It's illegal because it's warez. Swype has issued an official statement saying that distributing standalone apks is not allowed. You can read the entire statement HERE.

just download Go Keyboard in the market. It has it's own version of swype. IMO I like it better. It has really cool features and options.

Lol yeah I forgot you would have to have GO Launcher installed, and well originals are usually always better.

For some reason after doing Endless method of getting swype and keeping it from fc. It reverted to an older version. 2.7 after I had rebooted. Weird.

I had just reflashed the update and hadn't installed swype yet. So I didn't have anything to uninstall. I followed your directions and it worked. No fcs after reboot. Although some how it reverted to 2.7
