OK to flash MIUI 1.8.18 to AT&T Captivate running 2.3.3?

I am running the I897UCKF1 ROM and rooted thru I897UCKF1-AutoRoot-Designgears.
The preparation stated are Clockworkmod install and I897 bootloaders. Is that all?
I have seen several 'How to Install MIUI' that are quite complicated.
I am very keen to explore MIUI and many thanks for your reply(s).

I first flashed miui from continuum v6.1 running kf1 bootloaders, and it worked fine. This is how i would do it. I would backup all user apps and data, not sytstem data
with Titanium backup, make sure your contacts are synced with Google, make sure you have a folder named....external_sd, if you use a microsd card, make sure your 3 button combo works, Goto recovery mode do a nandroid backup,(CAUTION these next steps will WIPE your contacts, texts, user apps, system apps, all user data and system settings.) then goto mounts and storage select format /system, format /cache, format /data, format /datadata. Then install zip....., choose zip......, after miui installs, before rebooting, while in recovery mode, select wipe data/factory reset. Then reboot system now. It will take about 3 minutes to totally boot up. Then you should be good to go.

Just to be sure - first flash continuum v6.1 from Kf1 and then MIUI?

No I was just saying I came from a custom Samsung Rom with I897 GB bootloaders and it worked fine. You shouldn't need to flash Continuum first.

Did you make a folder on your sd called external_sd, then reboot your phone? That should fix it, I was running i897 GB bootloaders from KF1, and used my ext._sd.

If you our an external_sd folder on your sd and reboot it will work unless you're running i9000 TB bootloaders like my post just above yours explains. I use my external 16 GB card everyday on miui for over a month since first installing miui. It's very simple. Try it it will work.
