Question Wifi Frequent Disconnect Problem in 1.8.5 & 1.8.12

    Hello All
I tried 1.8.5 in my Defy but my Wifi is not stable. Then i installed 2.3.4a stable version which was working fine no wifi disconnect. But today i saw there is new version came 1.8.12 and i thought it may be fixed the problem of that but now i saw again it is disconnecting frequently and went to my 3G data.
Please give me some solution about this because these versions are faster than 2.3.4a.
Waiting for solution and thanks in advance.

    Hello All
At last i got some fix for this and it is working for me. Here is the post link: http://androidforums.com/ascend-all-...ifi-issue.html
This guy made my day and i used it in MIUI as well as CM7 on both this idea is working.
"Download Wifi Buddy (free on android market.) I'm sure there are other programs you can use, but this is the one I know.

Download Gtech Net Tools (Again Free on Market).

    Enable your wifi like usual.

Go into Gtech, Click IP Config. Click Wifi, and write down all your settings while it's still connected. If it drops out while your doing this, just refresh when it connects again.

Write down your connected/IP, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and DNS Server.

    Exit, and open Wifi Buddy.
Click preferances, Wifi Networks, Hit your Menu Button, Click advanced.
Goto Use Static IP, and plug in the info you wrote down from Gtech.
    (Netmask = Subnet Mask)

Arrow back once the info is in place, and connect to your Wifi.

It'll Stay stable, and no longer keep dropping, and reobtaining your Wifi.

For any new connections, rinse and repeat."

    I hope it helps.

    Hello
I am using now CM7 but you can fix this in MIUI also. Just put IP address and DNS etc manually. You can check it through 2 apps which you can download it from market.
Gtech Net Tools & Wifi Buddy. Just get your manual ip and dns from Gtech and put it in to your device and you will never get a disconnect. You have to do it with your every new connection you add.
Hope this will help. Please post it if this works for you.
    Regards

Just find out that what ip has been given to you by default on your device and put that in static ip config on your device. It will solve your frequent disconnect problem for sure because now i am happy connected with my wifi router without any disconnect.
You have to put: IP address, Gateway, Netmask, DNS1 & DNS2

not to sound ignorant but for new connections you repeat the process, does that wipe out the setting for the first set up? I still have disconnections at my job but my house is stable now, if I repeat these steps at work will it wipe out my home settings? thanks in advance.
