SWAP on MIUI
I would just like to know if it's possible, and how?
I currently have 3 partitions on my SD card - a FAT32, an EXT3, and a SWAP partition.
The FAT32 is for everyday files (i.e. music, photos etc.).
The EXT3 is for A2SD+ (so that my applications are installed here and not on the phone's internal memory).
And then I have SWAP, for virtual memory - which is what I can't seem to get working.
I have A2SDGUI installed, and when I click the button to enable SWAP, it doesn't enable it. What must I do/what am I doing wrong?
I'm using MIUI 1.8.5 from miui.us on my Milestone (no thread for the Milestone, but I'm sure the Droid threads are also for the Milestone).

Try this:
echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
dd if=/dev/zero of=/sdcard/swapfile.swp bs=1024 count=41656
chmod 666 /sdcard/swapfile.swp
losetup /dev/block/loop7 /cache/swapfile.swp
echo 7 > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness
mkswap /dev/block/loop7
swapon /dev/block/loop7Last edited by magiman7; 12-05-2011 at 06:44 PM.
People say that if you play Microsoft CD's backwards, you hear satanic things, but that's nothing, because if you play them forwards, they install Windows.
If at first you don't succeed, paint it shiny white and put an Apple logo on it. You can make a fortune on upgrades.
