    [ROM][Jellybean][10/29/2012] MIUI.us v4.1 for EVO 4G aka Supersonic

    MIUI.us Is Proud To Present
MIUI v4.1 For HTC EVO 4G

As of 2.8.10, miui.com has stopped producing ICS builds that are based on AOSP. Only ICS builds now are patchrom which is a stock sense or touchwiz ROM with miui patched in. Since I port from the Nexus S, which is now built on Jellybean, all future builds will be Jellybean for the foreseeable future.

    Installation Instructions:

    • Place ROM zip file in your SD card
    • Boot into recovery
    • Create a backup
    • Install DarkSide's super wipe from SD card - download
    • Install zip from SD card
    • Reboot and enjoy!

    Not Working:

    • FFC
    • Camcorder
    • WiMAX

    Downloads:

    Previous Builds

    Changelogs:
    ROM Changelog:
    • First official MIUI.us release - 9/28/2012

    Thanks:
    • preludedrew and the Evervolv team. I built evervolv ROM from source to use as a base, if you want that build you can get it here

The kernel source used for this ROM can be found at https://github.com/Evervolv/android_kernel_htc_qsd8k

Running this right now and I must say it was worth the wait. Not sure if it's just the CPU settings I'm using currently or what, but battery life is sooo much better.

    0xD34D -

Thank you so much for your hard work on this. Any idea if any of the vvm apk's will work correctly with JB? I've had a few FC's trying to provision the latest (when trying to record audio to send a provisioning request), and with the MIUI weather/clock widget. I read on another thread to switch the governor to smartassV2 and that has helped quite a bit (smooth as glass).

Akuku2, what CPU settings are you using. I have had some interesting power issues under MIUI roms. (Even after calibrations, a reboot brings the indicated battery down to 50-60% of full. Not seeing this behavior on other roms).

Again - my thanks go out to the people who are far more skilled and talented at this stuff than I could ever be for keeping my OG Evo on the cutting edge.

Ibpd716 - I'm using no frills CPU control and all I did was change the governor to SmartassV2. Made it a lot less sluggish and my battery life has been anywhere from 7-10 hrs depending on my usage and I'm the person who has in phone in hand a lot with texting and the occasional social network check. I have never had a great experience with ONDEMAND for any 4.0+ rom. I don't think I changed the scheduler, mine says noop? Haven't messed with +/- clocking yet, nor have a tried anything with voltages.

The only thing I can say about my battery is that it will charge to around 60% then slow wayyy then until a little after 70%ish shoot up pretty quickly to fully charged. And I'm basing my battery life experience off the fact that for some reason I was barely getting 5-7 hours off the last few V4 releases.

It would seem the Darkside super wipe link is broken. Am I able to download it from any site or was that one modified for the Evo 4G?

I might have spoken too soon.. My battery life is starting to revert back to its old ways a few days after the rom settling in lol.

Sorry to hijack, but I can't figure out how to make a new thread. Is it like xda where I need a cretain post count before doing so? Also, are there plans to be adding DSPmanager to this new version?

Has anyone gotten data working with the eri.xml method?
All I can get is a frozen evo splash screen.

Regarding the laggyness, I've been having to do a lot of cleaning (Miui cleaner and zeplin's engine flush script)
But with that extra effort it runs nicely for another few hours.
I've also switched my governor to performance, it helps in between cleanings.

I also seen it drop the cpu frq down to 614mhz for no apparent reason.

And I've witnessed two finger gestures get stuck, many times (I have the option set to make "clicks" visible)

My battery life is decent. If I keep the system running smoothly as I stated above. I can get about 8 - 10 hours (i swap batteries around 10%)
Not quite ~18 hours I got on ics with a good kernel (over 24 hours with my extended battery)...but not bad

I have to admit this is a very nice initial release...Well done!!

I had the same experience. The first time that I installed 2.9.29 I didn't do the darkwipe install. I am doing the darkwipe now and if that doesn't fix it I will definitely be reverting to 2.8.3 I was pretty happy with that version and only upgraded because the initial reviews made this version look promising. I'll report back with my results.

This was definitely the fix for me. Since the download link here is broken I downloaded this version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1477955

    I have a few issues:

    * The misoperation prevention mode sometimes incorrectly thinks my hand is over the top of the device when it is not.

    * My volume (while I have it set to the max) will periodically become too quiet to hear. A reset fixes this, but it is annoying. Notifications are the ones I have noticed this the most with.

    * The system is slow and laggy. Apps take much longer than they should to come up.

When my volume goes down like that I hit the volume up button to bring up the volume bar onto the screen, then I swipe the volume bar down (to the left), then up (to the right) and the volume is fine. This always happens when unplugging the headphones.

As for the lag, I've frozen the miui.us Toolbar app. It kept lowering the CPU max to 614. As for the governor I haven't had too much time with SmartAssv2 to really tell a difference.

Update: The max CPU frequency does get reset to 614mhz (even when using CPU profiles), so it's not the toolbox app.

I have been using Rom Toolbox to set the frequency and RAM Manager and even when my CPU frequency gets set to 614mhz, manually setting it to 960mhz has the phone running smoothly again.

I'll try to catch what's causing the change, this Rom is awesome.

I also felt like this upate was the first update I had ever regretting installing.

Then I did the darkwipe superwipe of awesomeness and now it's great!

It's still a littleskippyskittish when I unlock the screen, but otherwise, it's pretty and awesome. Thanks!

Uh oh, I might have to edit this to add:

Things really are sluggish here. Lockscreen doesn't feel smooth, app to app switching seems sluggish. I might end up downgrading after all.

Not a complaint--I get this awesome ROM on an older phone for free! I did want people who are considering upping to this one to know the deal, though. The jelly bean notifications--especially for Gmail--are super nice, but the speed loss is great.

    My bug report...
On 10.19 and 10.26 (idk about older versions):
Every other reboot freezes at the white evo splash screen.
    On 10.26 only:
Phone will not come out of standby, it just restarts the ui ("hot boot"). A phone call seemed to work (only tried once), but the power button and a text both resulted in a reboot.
