Car Mode won't turn off

I have an issue where out of nowhere 'car mode' pops on & off even when a usb cable is unplugged. I removed google nav and even 10 minutes later it enabled again without a USB cable plugged in. This has never happened before, so I am mystified. Any suggestions?

Believe it or not this is actually an issue with the connectors on the bottom. When I took mine to the sprint store the guy used canned air like you would for cleaning a computer and blew the ports out. I assumed it was just his way of getting me out of the store but the issue never returned. My buddy and his girl both had evos with the same issue, so I cleaned their ports (both the usb and hdmi) and they havent had the issue since either.

since i cant "post new threads" for some reason?? ill post here. when i reboot my phone (or it randomly reboots its self, happens a lot...) car mode comes on automatically. how can completely remove this annoying and dumb app? i can not find it to disable it, and there is no "uninstall" and hell, i cant even turn it on or find it unless i reboot the phone! any help would be great. ill post other questions in random threads too till i get permission to add new threads ;-)

Did you read the solution in the post above? The car app is built in; there's no way to remove it. Dirty connectors make the phone think its plugged into a car dock.

yes i read it. yes i blew my brand new out of the box phone that has never been used out with canned air. NO IT DIDNT FIX THE PROBLEM. thats why i posted the question here
i have no issues being able to turn it off....its an annoyance to have to do so every time my phone is rebooted. also...it doesnt do anything anyway that i can tell, perhaps its broken and non functional to begin with??

I finally fixed mine yesterday. Take the battery out. Dip a brush (toothbrush works) in some rubbing alcohol. Scrub the USB connector several times. Then finishes it off with canned air.
