I don't get that problem and I switched from Andy's ROM too. You may have to try a full wipe and flash again, and maybe don't restore system settings from MIUI backup, if that's what you did. It seems to cause problems sometimes.

So have you changed your DPI from the default then? That article suggests that that can cause these problems. I guess if we do things that Google or the manufacturer didn't intend then we can't always expect things to work super smoothly. But there always seems to be a workaround available!

Exactly I have changed my DPI to 182 (I had been using SlimICS so kinda liked it).

I remembered this from ICS. I faced similar problems.

BTW which app do you prefer for root? I use to love ES FIle explorer but doesnt seem to work now.. It was a good all in one explorer..

I used to use ES too, but Andy found it didn't play nice with MIUI's permission manager so root won't work. I've started using root browser lite, it does the job and looks alright too

Thanks but looks a bit more than I need! Root browser lite is free too and it does the file handling stuff just fine, don't really need any of the extra stuff, as good as it might be

yes, that's what I discovered. can you check to see if the widget is available in your launcher? as it isn't in mine despite it being a system installed app
    It's not in my launcher.
Most logical reason: it is not installed.
And because it is a system app I can't get it installed and don't have the tools and knowledge to do so.

I do remember the widget was on my phone (Andy's Rom I think) but it never found a song for me.

If it's a system app it just means it's part of the ROM - si it is installed, so that doesn't explain why it doesn't appear in the launcher. I found it very good a tfinding songs, better than Soundhound and Shazam and quicker too, but obviously everyone's experience will be different.

I read somewhere that unfreezing it with TB should do the trick (untill you reboot)?

    Update
I used package enabler from Playstore and the widget is there even after reboot.

Thanks very much, package enabler worked for me. question is, why was the package disabled in the first place? It certainly isn't anything I've done. Maybe MIUI have disabled it as they intend to offer their own solution. If so, that's a bit nasty.

    I don't know.
Maybe it has something to do with use outside the USA and/or licensing?

I seen that its the same on german and multilang port too. its a version bug.
Any work around for this? or do we need to wait till its fixed in next release?

How do I resize widgets? In the miui toolbox there is a option resize widgets. I have it enabled but how do I resize widgets. If I long press on the widgets it goes to edit widgets screen..

You shouldn't need to use the toolbox unless the widget you want to resize isn't normally resizable. Anyway, long pressing on the widget should NEVER take you to the edit widgets screen because it should actually pick the widget up and let you move it. If you then let go of it without moving it it goes into resize mode.

Yes it actually lets me move it around but when I leave it without moving it doesnt let me resize the widget... I am trying to resize clock widget.

Have just tested and yes, it seems that clocks aren't resizeable, probably because they use graphics and not vectors so can't be resized without artifacts.

Never saw the need for clock widgets anyway, the time is on the status bar and lockscreen. ;-) That big fancy HTC widget everyone loves is similarly pointless IMO. It tells you the time that's already on the top of screen and tells you what the weather is doing - which is what a window is for, surely!
