ok somehow got it to boot, I dont remember what I actually did , I think I flashed Devil JB Kernel before rebooting and fixed permissions. But when the phone booted it was Mackay kernel...

Anyone using devil Jb kernel with this?? does it work?

Depends which version of Devil you used, the latest ones won't work due to a vsync patch in CM10 that Brad hasn't implemented. I think he's looking into it for the next version though

OK done this still not working boots back to recovery

Stock JVT> JB MIUI
Stock JW4> JB MIUI
Stock JW4> GB MIUI > JB MIUI
Stock JW4 > GB MIUI > ICS MIUI > JB MIUI

Still not working, I am 100 % sure I have done everything right. I have flashed rom a lot of times... seems it would just not work for no reason.

Very strange. I'm out of ideas I'm afraid as it worked fine for me (it did bootloop, but as I said I just removed the battery and reflashed and it worked).

try this. wipe everything data, datadata, system, cache, dalvik before installing JB. when you get bootloop remove the battery, and flash JB again without wipes

I have posted on first post it is best to flash this rom from ICS so the procedure you should have taken was :

Stock GB (i use JVS) > then flash the Rooted kernel for it. > ICS ROM ( i Use ICS333 2.0.1) > then this ROM
that shouldn't give any issues as you would have a squeaky clean install.

If from MIUI ICS from andy a wipe data/ factory reset and wipe cache partition then flash should have worked. it will boot back to recovery on first flash, and loop this process(boot to recovery then restart flash, reboot back to recovery then restart flash), On first flash it is only flashing the kernel compatible to the version you are flashing.(I.e ICS 4.0.4 or jellybean 4.1.1) like i said above. pull battery boot to recovery and flash again. this time will actually flash the entire ROM not just the kernel.

sadly you can't use that kernel for now

I'm not 100% up on the whole vsync issue but CM10 changed the way it handled vsync (it matters not to us what this actually means!) and the kernels had to change with it but the change was slow so it got patched but it seems that even with the patch you will need a kernel made for the changed version. As I understand it the change improved battery life, not sure what impact the following patch had - I'm guessing that it returned performance to how it had been but with the improved battery life (or a compromise of the two). But I could be wrong.

So, any newer versions of kernels require this patched release of CM10 (the kernels all make this clear on their relevant pages). I think Brad is looking to do this for his next version.

As for hugemem, I'm not sure but I believe so because Mackay uses hugemem out of the box and that's the kernel Brad is using.

yes i was!

i don't know exactly what is vsync but i think is the same as the pc's
about the hugemem patch but i think it has. im using semaphore 2.1.0s with 403 mb of ram

That would be down to what is added and removed when the rom is translated, there is a few things added and a lot that gets removed when MIUI.us translation team do there thing, if you like i can look into adding it back or request to have it kept in the rom. That is if its not something andy added himself or MIUIAndroid added themselves during translation or modding.

Thanks for that Brad. I've had a look and it's called Google Ears and it is just part of JellyBean, so not sure why it isn't in the build. Maybe MIUI removed it themselves (I'm not 100% sure it was in the last build from Andy now I come to think of it).

Hmm, curious. I downloaded it and it said it was already in my system apps. Yet the widget doesn't appear in the list in the launcher. Does anyone else see it?

yes, that's what I discovered. can you check to see if the widget is available in your launcher? as it isn't in mine despite it being a system installed app

the music app may be a bug or you might need to flash with a full wipe.

as for internal memory, see my post above. yes, this is normal for any cm10 rom. you can move apps to sd or use the scripts I linked to above.

I get that too, and I also did with Andy's ROM so guess it's a bug in cm10, MIUI, the search app or the play store.

why does it show this app is not compatible with your device in market, there are lots of apps I cant install from market..
