Assert Failed: status 7 error

Hello,

I went to upgrade to the latest MIUI, and I get the following error:

Assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "crespo")|| getprop("ro.build.product") == "crespo"
E:Error in /sdcard/MIUI.us_crespo_v4_2.5.25_Eng_Deo_ZipA_Signed.zip (Status 7)
Installation Aborted.

I have been searching for answers all f'ing day and I can't seem to find anything that is helping. I have even tried installing much older version of this rom with the same error.

Please help... I was able to get Cyangenmod 7 installed, but I can't stand it....

you're flashing the rom for the nexus s, not the nexus s 4g it seems. crespo = nexus s, crespo4g = nexus s 4g.

EDIT: One more stupid question. I am not able to figure out how to install apps. I can not find the Play Store or an options to set it up.

Google apps aren't included in MIUI anymore. You'll want to download and flash gapps from here: http://tinyw.in/mdX5 to get Play Store and the other Google apps.

Thanks, I did download that and tried to flash install, but got an error. I'll try again and post the error message (providing I get one again)... LOL

Weblexa, I recopied it to my phone and that worked. I guess the file didn't copy over correctly.

BTW, MIUI is awesome... It's the best that I have found so far. Thank you for all your help.
