15p RADIO
so i see there is a new 15p baseband out there, and was wondering if this is something we can flash somehow (without froyo) and if it has any benefit to us.

Have to be on froyo to flash atm, it does make for better signal but going to froyo isn't an option for me right now, I don't want to sbf yet lol

Re: 15p RADIO
yeah, i looked for other ways to flash the 15p without going back to froyo, but it's the only way. i did it this morning after backing up my current rom. i SBFed back to froyo, rooted, cwr, and then flashed the 15p. i sbfed back to .605 using the linux method since it does not alter your basebands, rerooted, cwr, and restored previously made backup. worked. the linux method i found here . http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/dr...-problems.html

Re: 15p RADIO
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/2834-radi...band-updaters/
I was running Gummy 1.0.1 when I upgraded to 15p. Took about an hour total to go from Gummy -> .340 -> radio flash -> Linux flash .605 -> Gummy including booting from Windows to Ubuntu but if you're in Linux when you start I could see 40 minutes. I've been to Gummy 1.2 and now I'm back to Wizard's GB MIUI without issue.
Goose on Rootz is working on ways to get around SBF to 340 but hasn't had a whole lot of luck yet. I'm sure someone will unlock .621 properly soon and we'll all upgrade for the kernel and radio.
As for how .15p is working. Battery life was slightly improved over 13p and signal quality is much improved in typically 'hard to get a good signal' areas. I'd say upgrade if you have signal issues here and there but don't bother if you get a good signal in your commonly traveled area.

Re: 15p RADIO
i upgraded mine yesterday. everything was going good, used the tbh 605 aio zip, and it went fine. getting to miui was a breeze. trying to restore a backup, not so good. kept telling me system.img not found, and a few other things that it couldnt find. so i just went through and manually reset everything the way i like it. 3g signal seems to be a lot better for the area i live in. its worth it if you have the time. but still quite a pain in the ass

Re: 15p RADIO
I got the exact same thing. I couldn't recover to my nandroid backup when I came back up to .605 and had to just flash fresh MIUI 5.12 and reload everything but otherwise it seems like it was worth the downgrade/upgrade path to have the latest radio.

Re: 15p RADIO
Pretty sure this has to do with different versions of CWM. Like clothednblack mentioned, if you just flash MIUI first, you can reboot, hit volume up at the blue led to get into bootmenu, then go to CWM from the recovery options and you'll be on the 2nd-Init version. Then you should be able to restore a nandroid just fine, you don't even have to boot all the way into MIUI first. One of the many great features of Wiz's bootmenu!

Re: 15p RADIO
I went to the rootz site and was looking over the 1kds method. i downloaded the iso for 602 and 605, and got the unetbootin on the computer. i used unetbootin, and had it put the 602 iso on a usb drive. after rebooting, it just tells me boot error and sometimes it will say ntldr not found. i dont know if i'm doing the unetbootin wrong or what. and yes, i have my computer set to boot from usb. checked md5's and everything. just cant seem to get it going for me. so seems i'm either stuck with the old radio or no recovery. i've tried all the different methods for recovery and none of them work. anyone know if i'm doing something wrong?

first off, if you're going for the 15p radio, you'll need to sbf to froyo (.340). 602 and 605 won't allow you to flash a radio. There is a 1kds disc for 340 that you can use.
basically, you need to sbf to froyo, root, install cwm, flash the 15p radio zip, 1kds back to 602 or 605, root, install cwm, flash MIUI, and you are good to go.
as far as unetbootin...I think I have done it from a USB. don't remember if I used unetbootin or another tool (lili, tuxboot, universal USB installer, etc.) or just burned to a disc. you can also throw the iso in a virtual machine in virtualbox out vmware, although it takes way longer to load everything. you're best bet is a CD if you have a disc drive.

Re: 15p RADIO
yeah, the lack of a disk drive keeps me from burning it. i did do all the sbf to froyo stuff and got all the way back to miui, but i lost recovery in the process. its the 1kds back to 602 or 605 that doesn't work for me. i'll see about using vmware. time isn't really an issue with me, but i really like having the new radio.

I prefer virtualbox, that's what I've used it on. I'm sure vmware will work the same though. Just one heads up...when I ran through it, I had to connect my phone in bootloader, then it would wipe it, then I had to reconnect it to the virtual machine because it disconnected. I thought maybe it messed up at first, but then realized I just needed to reconnect the phone.
