USB mass storage not working

hey guys- having a bit of a problem- USB mass storage doesn't seem to want to work. I plug the phone into the computer, and the verizon website pops up ok and the phone shows charging, but no folder opens up. when I go into my computer, the phone shows as "CD Drive (H" and when I try to open it it tells me to insert a disk. any ideas?
