[RESOLVED] MIUI Gallery Duplication Bug

Right now everyone has two of every album showing up in MIUI Gallery. These do not go away if you clear Data/Cache.

There are two current solutions:

1. For the nervous: Set the duplicates to "Hidden" and uncheck the option in MIUI Gallery Settings that says "Show Hidden Folders"
2. For everyone else: Just delete the duplicates. It is absolutely harmless and all of your originals will remain intact.
   
   • Make a backup of the Camera Roll in case something goes horribly wrong. *knocks on wood*

There you have it. Once MIUI fixes the problem, this problem will be banished.

Was going to try this fix, by my Gallery Force Closes before I can get any of them deleted. Any reason its FC'ing.

Running 2.4.20 with a fresh install.

I cleared the external storage data as well. It might help fix the problem.

How do you go about clearing the external storage data?

Yeah mine fc's in gallery also. Has for weeks. I'm so glad that the aosp gallery is in the gapps ;-)

then you my friend are downloading the wrong Gapps. I don't have the stock gallery on my phone so im glad the gallery app hasn't FCed.

On the external storage, using a file explorer of some kind, delete these two folders:

1) Android>data>com.miui.gallery
2) MIUI>.cache>Gallery

That should've gotten rid of it. I don't know what to say. I guess for now just continue to use the AOSP Gallery if you have it.

Still having double album and fc'ing issues on 2.4.27, fresh/clean install

P.S. those who might be nervous, should be. I was able to remove the 2nd camera album before the fc, went back into my album and all my camera photos were gone. Panicked and opened Quick Album, they were missing there too. Thank God I use dropbox - everything was backed up there!

Yea double album is still here for me but FC'ing isn't. Sorry man.

Also, I tried updating my OP based upon your problem but it's giving some stupid error message about my message being too short.
