[ROM][9/9/11][PORT] MIUI 1.9.9 for Mesmerize and Showcase

This is a Gingerbread AOSP rom version 2.3.5

Does not work:
MMS if you are on wifi, the hand off between wifi and 3g is not working right, so if you stay off of wifi you are good

What works:
Everything as far as I know.

THIS ROM IS A WORK IN PROGRESS


Install instructions:
BACK UP BECAUSE IT WILL REMOVE EVERYTHING. IT WILL NOT TOUCH YOUR SDCARD.
I suggest being in cwm3 (link here, extract and pick the color you want)
Flash the MIUI rom of your choice in cwm3
it flash cwm4 then reboot and flash the miui rom
Do not use 3 button recovery anymore after this

If you are already on a MTD system then just reboot to recovery mode and flash

When going back to stock do a FULL ODIN flash found here and make sure to check repartition.
Do what you have to do to get CWM3 installed again
Then flash this RFS Formatter (Occasionally when coming from MTD rom a filesystem get corrupted, the RFS Formatter fixes that.
Then flash your rom of choice

This weeks update is not going in rom manager / MIUI updater because I am requiring you to be on EH09 radio. You need to follow these directions otherwise don't waste my time or anyone elses time if it doesn't work.

Step 1
Download EH09 modem odin flash and rom
RADIO **MegaUpload**
RADIO Mirror
MIUI 1.9.9 ROM

Step 2 (skip if you are on EH09 radio already)
use odin 1.3 found here or here
Flash via odin
Directions on how to flash a odin file: (borrowed from phidelt82's post and changed some)
1. Pull your phone battery
2. Start Odin
3. Check the PDA box, Click PDA and select the .tar.md5 file from the download
4. Plug your phone into the USB port and hold volume down
-your phone should go into download mode
5.Verify that Odin sees your phone.
-if not, try another USB port
6. Click Start

Step 3
Once that is done put batter back in and boot up and back up in TB if needed because I would data wipe

Step 4
Reboot to recovery and data wipe ( this will wipe everything but what is on your sdcard.)

Step 5
Flash the rom

Step 6
Reboot and enjoy

**Pointers**
Root is a bit different for some reason. for it to work right you need to:
Go into tools folder
Click on superuser
Click menu
Click setting
Enable ROOT permission

If data stops working then either go into airplane mode or just disable data and re-enable data. I have see it happen before

The new beta swype will work with MIUI now, I just forgot to include updated installer (sorry)

If you complain sms and mms doesn't work and you are not on EH09 radio or didn't data wipe you will be ignored

Using jt1134's new V5 kernel with fixed sensors and incall audio louder
Running EH09 radio and framework fixed to having padding enabled now
FC issue that was present in 1.9.2 when downloadin in market or sending mms is fixed (THANK ANDMER)
Going into an area that you would Normally lose data on aosp roms but have data on MIUI seems to be fixed (YAY ME) You will just roam now. (Still working on it)
Oh and lastest MIUI 1.9.9 changes
If I forgot some changes please let me know

Q: How do I get mms sending working or why doesn't it work
A: with mms, if you use wifi, mms will not work. I don't guarentee that it will work for everyone. if it doesn't work don't get angry, its alpha, so it will be buggy.
to get sending working, you will need to goto voice dialer and say a p n

The second version says something about the otb kernel, I'm just wondering if this has a kernel in it or not? The first time I flashed it, I had an AOSP kernel that said it was compatible with cm7, and it had the voodoo sound and bln mod in it- (then I had to flash back to stock because after restarting It got stuck in airplane mode) and now I seem to still have voodoo sound, but no bln- is there any way we could get the bln mixed back in here?

I have an account, it's the fact that the process of installing and licensing Swype is not possible on MIUI due to the fact you can't disable keyboards.

Great work dfgas! I moved from CM7 with no issues except on bootup. I still see the Samsung Cyanogenmod label for a few seconds, then my MIUI bootanimation kicks in with (great fanfare). Any thoughts? Thanks again for your work!

I have a questions...I am currently running Stock USCC Froyo (EC10), rooted with Superoneclick, CWM Recovery, and jt's ec10 voodoo kernel w/lagfix (no UV or OC). Can I move to this? Or are there steps I need to take first before going to this other than a wipe and an install from Recovery. Also, is the MMS/WIFI issue still an issue or is it fixed?

I would suggest updating to the EE19 radio with Odin first.

Then follow the instructions on the first page of this topic to get to a version of MIUI

Now that you are in a version of MIUI, use ROM manager to update to 1.8.12

Voodoo will no longer exist with the MTD ROM's. MMS does not work while on WIFI but everything else seems to be running great. MIUI is very customization and is a great ROM!
