Force close on Ggl Street view

I am getting NullPointerException when navigating from Maps to Street view on Moto Defy / MIUI 2.3.16.
Got the newest Maps 6.5.0 from the market, the other components like Places, Navigation or Latitude do work fine, but for Street view I don't even see the icon. I un- and installed it back several times, when I try to run it by some rooted app (e.g. SD Maid) it says it's Not possible
Finally when viewing a big city on Maps and having the Street view enabled it's crashing with that very exception.
Plz help or advise. Thx in advance

Basically by uninstalling the entire Ggl Maps and then installing it back again along with Street view. Thx anyway
