Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
Thanks for the offer to donate! Donations are what keep us devs going. If you'd like, you can donate to me here: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/websc...=TU2MMHSZP2N5Q
All my donations go to the purchase of a new phone so we can bring MIUI to more devices.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
Well, I'm back to 1.12.9. I just couldn't get 2.3.30 working to save my life. I will try again in the next release. Maybe there will be a more direct upgrade path for me then. The only thing I'm really missing out on is the prettiness of Android 4 and the Chrome for Android beta.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
I'm really fascinated with how well 2.3.30 MIUI performs. It seems a lot more alive than 1.12.9 that I have been using for quite a while now. I don't know what it is but for some reason when I did voice recognition to text for me, it kept fudging up words consistently and I had to redo it multiple times. Now it recognizes everything perfectly, or at least more accurately. The UI is more fluid as well. This is what I noticed at the least. I have an application that I use to draw simple sketches and before everything was choppy when i tried to draw something, now it's all smooth lines.

Any idea what would cause the roaming indicator off to show up in the notification area? I can't see my notifications because it takes up the entire bar.

I forgot to edit eri.xml which is why the Roaming Indicator Off message is being displayed. I will make sure that edit is included in Friday's release.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
Well I fixed the camera issue. Just took an extra data/cache/dalvik wipe. looking forward to seeing what you find out about the 3G issue. in the mean time I will wait patiently with 2G as I really like the ICS OS. Also glad to hear there will be a fix for the "roaming indicator off" banner. Other than that I havent found any other odd bugs. keep it coming weblexa! thanks for the great effort and support

If you're still looking for the datafix, I believe this is the one people are talking about:

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
Thanks jbry for the link. I tried flashing it under miui 2.3.30, but it was a no go. I might try going back to stock, flashing ths build 2, then the data fix, then up to miui ics. Has anyone else had any luck getting 3g??

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
I don't see why its a no go for you, its working fine w/out the data fix for me.
I restored to fresh stock EH09 (w/ repartition checked) then to rooted stock EH09 then flashed CwM4 fixed for CM7 Odin & the E120 modem (in the same session), let it reboot then ran the *228 activation.
Put THS build 2 & this 1 (MIUI ICS 2.3.30) & the data fix (just in case) on the SDcard, 3 fingered into recovery, wiped the big 3, flashed THS build 2 (it automatically reboots after) rebooted back to recovery via power menu, wiped the big 3, again, flashed MIUI ICS, rebooted, good to go, 3g & all.Last edited by Xeno Templar; 04-07-2012 at 08:36 PM.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
I also cannot get 3g to work. I notice it works while I have ths build 2 booted up but, then after applying MIUI ICS, it will not switch out of 1X. I have tried all suggestions I could find to try to fix this including the data fix, dialing *228 and the exact steps Xeno Templar listed.
GPS is the only other thing that I have found to not work for me aside from the aforementioned wifi tethering, torch and buggy signal bar.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
I ended up with a $60 roaming charge on my phone bill because I didn't see the roaming notification

Shit happens! At least we can be hopeful that this will be resolved in the next release. Also tested out GPS and thats not working. Google nav just keeps saying "searching for gps" when I try it. It did however put me in the close vicinity of where I was but, it said i was in the woods when I was in fact driving on the interstate. Also 3G says I'm at 1X speeds but, honestly everything is streaming like normal and before 1X didn't offer me much connectivity so I think it's not reporting properly since it's part of the signal area (and that is supposedly in the notes that it's not working).
Other than that, phone is definitely usable and I will keep using it the way it is. Really wish the roaming charges didn't hit me so hard, or I could have donated more the next time around!
Thanks Weblexa

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
My wifes phone with the previous MIUI just started force closing on her which is what was happening to my phone and prompted me to install MIUI v4. I was going wait for the next release but i will have to install soon because she can't use her phone anymore.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
I restored my previous MIUI after trying this one out the other day and now mine just started doing the exact same thing about an hour ago. Have no idea what happened/changed. Nothing but force close after force close. Guess I'll try getting my data backed up and updating to 2.3.30 again. I am hoping that the 3G issue I have will be fixed soon.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
Is 3G not working for you or is it saying 1X? Because mine says 1X but it's actually working at 3G speeds. I used to think the force close issue was a problem with permissions because it all started to happen when the play market came out... But that's not the case.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
The phone actually displays both 3g and 1X bars at the same time when running MIUI 2.3.30. However, the 3g never has any activity and when browsing/downloading, it seems slower even though my speed test showed 500K which I believe 1X is not capable of. I would be fine with this if I could only get it to continue the downloads when installing new apps but, when I choose to override it, it cancels the download instead of continuing.
If you haven't already wiped your wife's phone, try disabling and re-enabling background data and all sync programs. This fixed my force closes for me on my old MIUI ROM which I am currently running. I was just about to give up and wipe my data when as a last resort I started going through and toggling everything I could find in the settings. As soon as I disabled and re-enabled the background data, a voice mail popped up and my force closes ceased but, I had first disabled all sync settings. I then went back and re-enabled my sync data, restarted to make sure and so far I haven't gotten a force close on anything. It's been almost an hour now.
P.S.
I started with anything that had to do with networking because I noticed WIFI would not enable when getting the force closes. WIFI now works. :-)Last edited by netman74501; 04-16-2012 at 12:56 PM.
