[ROM] Official MIUI ICS
MIUI.us is Proud to Present
MIUI v4 for the Samsung Mesmerize
With The Exclusive MIUI.us Toolbox

I have included all the necessary gapps in the ROM. Please do not flash the MIUI.us gapps as it will cause problems. Any Google apps not included in the ROM can be downloaded from the Play Store.
Installation Instructions
If coming from a Gingerbread based ROM, you must flash teamhacksung's BUILD 2 and allow it to fully boot before flashing this ROM.
- Place ROM zip file in your SD card
- Boot into recovery
- Create a backup
- Factory reset device
- Wipe Cache & Dalvik
- Install zip from SD card
- Reboot and enjoy!
What Doesn't Work
- Wifi Tethering
- 3G signal bars still broken. Voice signal bars fully functional though.
- Torch
Having trouble with data? Flash this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/102417300/datafix_jb.zip
Everything else is assumed to be working. If you find something broken that isn't listed above, please let us know so we can look into it. Once the bug is confirmed, it will be added to the list above. Thanks
- JT1134, sbrissen, teamhacksung, and everyone else who had a hand in making CM9 possible for the Mesmerize
- MIUI for the awesome ROM
- dfgas for some bug fixes regarding data/calls

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
Was having problems with MIUI 1.9.X.X (can't remember version now) with force closes and such... and as a result had to redo everything. When I went into about phone, it said there was an OTA update available for my phone. OTA update being 2.3.30, so I downloaded it and installed it, figuring I had nothing to lose since I had just wiped data and was starting over. After updating to 2.3.30, I am stuck on the screen with the MIUI.us logo, and it does not go anywhere from there.
I can't seem to get into recovery using the three button method, and since it won't load all the way, I am kind of stuck. I will follow the other thread, and if I remember correctly, I have to flash an ICS version, and then hopefully to this 2.3.30 to get it working. Any help would be appreciated however, I am going to be working on this tonight until I get it going since my phone is what gets me connected to work for my on call work.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
Things that i have noticed:
Did not have Gmail.apk installed, so I had to download it elsewhere and install it.
Ringtones don't seem to work very well. If you go in settings to configure ringtone selection, it does not work. Have to go into music and find the mp3 you want, and apply it there, for it to work.
Get a message in notification area that says "Roaming Indicator Off" and it will not go away.
Themes were not working properly for me but I found out that it's a problem with MIUI and theme_values.xml not being applied correctly. I wanted a dark theme, but since black text on dark colors comes out wonky, it does not work right.
I haven't had MIUI4 on any other devices so some of the issues I am running into are problem MIUI related and not the port.
Thanks Weblexa, ill keep adding as I find more. Seems to work good enough for it to be my daily ROM, so it will get used heavily.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
Flashing the rom was a breeze, (flashed to stock-->ths build 2-->MIUI) i followed the instructions to the T, but i don't seem to be able to get any 3G connectivity. Even after calling *228. Is there some sort of fix for this?

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
Did you flash teamhacksung's ICS build 2 before flashing MIUI? I was just doing some reading on this and I guess the Mesmerize will have some issues with 3G connectivity if you flash any other ICS build before flashing MIUI ICS.
If you did flash Build 2 first, there's a data fix floating around for the Mesmerize. It shouldn't be needed with this ROM, but flashing it wouldn't hurt. You might try searching XDA or RootzWiki for it. I'd post a link but I'm on my phone and 3G has been real slow for me today. If you have trouble finding it, let me know and I'll try to find it when I get home tonight.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
I just tried the "data fix". Completely horked my phone. Won't boot except into recovery. *sigh*, now to start over. I already had the same problem as alaindesjardins. Just tried the OTA update thinking that it wouldn't be available if my phone couldn't directly take it. Been fighting with it for the last two days now.
Went back to stock with the official USCC software, flashed CWM4 with heimdall, then flashed THS's build 2. Flashed MIUI 2.3.30 after that and activated with *228.
Things working:
Calls
1X RTT
WiFi
GPS
Things sort of working:
MIUI Backup (restores apps, but not data)
Bluetooth (pairs, and can call via my car, but cannot remote dial)
Things not working:
Camera
Text/SMS (blank sends)
Torch
3G

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
Well, now my phone isn't recognized by anything when I put it in download mode and connect it to my computer. Has anyone else seen this? It still boots into recovery, but flashing various ROMS appears to have no effect. There are no errors when I flash, it just won't boot normally.

Try reinstalling the USB drivers onto your computer. I've had that problem a few times and reinstalling the drivers normally fixed it. If the Fascinate/Mesmerize drivers don't work, try installing drivers for the Nexus.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
Thanks weblexa. I panicked there for a minute. Turned out to be a bad USB port.

Glad it wasn't your phone. Also, make sure you don't use the 3-button method to boot into recovery on ics. It doesn't work well. Open the Updater app, press the menu button, then select reboot to recovery. Not sure if thats what you were doing or not but figured I'd mention it.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
So is there any fix available that will work to get 3G working for the mesmerize? I cant seem to find the fix every one is mentioning. Unless its the EI20 radio, but i tried that and it did nothing. do you by chance have a link to this other fix? I'm running 2.3.30 and everything is great except the no 3G and camera.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
Camera works for me, as far as 3G well it say 1X and i tried downloading something earlier and it was so slow it failed miserably. I kept getting that MIUI prompt that there would be high data usage when downloading anything over 1MB but I got rid of that dialog and now stuff actually downloads... it's just really slow and I think it has to do with that 1X and it not being actual 3G speeds. I'm not very familiar with that
Actually, now that I think about it, I was able to use Teamviewer to remote into my desktop PC. I don't think I could do that without 3G so, I'll have to run speedtest to see how fast it really is.

I'm looking into the 3G issue and will try to have it figured out soon. I can't seem to find the data fix either, but I'll do some more looking to see if I can find it.

Re: [ROM] MIUI ICS 2.3.30
weblexa, is there anything I can do to show my appreciation? a donation of sorts? I just am really thankful that you are helping us out... I can't stand having a phone that is just bland and MIUI has done it the best. I don't know what I would do without it! Thank you
