How to edit build.prop to fix market & enable 4g if it is in your area.

Follow image links in order if you want to know what the screens look like.

Market Fix

1. you need to be rooted (if your on this forum and running miui you already are rooted) and have ES File Explorer downloaded from market.

2. open es file explorer and press menu then settings scroll all the way to the bottom and go to root options & turn on root explorer & mount file system

3. go back to the view of your sd card now on the top left there is a image of sd card click that. look for a folder named system and click there

4. in system scroll to bottom and look for a file called build.prop long press on this file and click copy now click the house at top left and paste the build.prop to your sd card

5. now go back to the system folder click on build.prop and you will get a selection of apps to pick from depending on what you have installed. pick es note editor

6. now that you in your build.prop scroll down and look for #end build properties

7. once you found this look above it and you will see ro.build.fingerprint=?????? to fix market you need to change ro.build.fingerprint=whateveritsayshere to ro.build.fingerprint=htc_wwe/htc_ace/ace:2.3.3/GRI40/47853:user/release-keys

8. once you have that changed press menu then save.



9. now reboot your phone and after booted back up open market and search for your app you was wanting.


Enable 4g

open up build.prop and scroll down to # defualt network type look above this and you will see several lines that start with ro.ril these are the lines that you change.

Once you have your build.prop edited hit menu save then reboot and do a speed test and see if your speeds have increased I know mine did was getting 1.5 down 600-800 up to 3-4 down and 1.1-1.5 up

OK so this enable 4g will make 4g work?.. or just increase speeds?

well att 4g for this phone is just increased 3g speed that is it. but this is what i have found from reading several threads.
