Hello there, I am currently on MIUI.us_Shadow_2012.11.12-Aroma-Wizard0f0s-signed. I want to update to this one, which is more stable? the one I am using has been force closing a few apps recently.

The gapps link is broken

I am not using this phone as an actual phone so data or signal in general is no problem I just need Wifi. As for the camera, I don't really use it, if I do it's for photos so its cool.

Any hope on Google Now? I used it on the S3 and fell in love.

Definitely not close to as stable as GB and a lot more lag. I made GNow work a while back but it wasn't complete, can't remember what didn't work, it barely fits though because the ICS system files take up all but a few MB of the system partition.

Okay, but is it at least stable? I have become addicted to flashing ROM's, however I know when to stop, and I just want to find one for this phone. Most of what seems to not work on ICS ROM's are not relevant to me since I am not using this phone as an actual phone. All I am really looking for is stable, smooth or at least enough to not get me mad, and good video playback. I already use MXPlayer, regardless of the ROM so no worries there, but YouTube. That's the one thing that I use non stop, does this work?

I have now switched over to LiquiKang ICS. It's the best ICS I've ever run IMO. The new version 2.1 just released and is awesome. Most works and it's way smooth. Still no Netflix but that's all of the ICS's. I will definitely try this in the future when Wizard fixes it because his GB ROM is great. Also if you do go MIUI v4 get 2.6.29b2 not this one. Several things went downhill on 2.7.6.

The answer is kind of. Right now all my free time is going to a new rom called ChameleonOS. It is based on CM 10 and has been changed to work with Miui themes (open source). I believe most of the Miui Theme integration pieces can be ported back to ICS though. Meaning it may be possible to actually back port ChaOs to the DX.

I had asked a while back (not sure which forum it was atm) if anybody wants to work on the next release with my help to get them started. I had several people respond, but I haven't gotten worth them yet as I'm still trying to get the lockscreen code translated from smali to java. I have to finish that part and ChaOs has to be released before I can share any of the code (I'm not the only one working on it and it isn't even my idea).

The problem with another straight Miui port is that Miui moved to JB several months ago. It was difficult to port the ICS version over, but porting JB is much harder (since we don't have even an ICS kernel). Moving to the ChaOs theming system will give the feel of Miui, but the open source stability of CM.

So no, I haven't abandoned y'all, I just can't actually do anything yet for a new build (I've put in probably over 100 hours in the last month trying to get my part of ChameleonOS done). It is coming along and is scheduled for the initial release in the first quarter (by April at the latest).

Follow @ChaOs_Rom on twitter for updates. Don't feel ungrateful, I haven't been posting anything in a while and you just asked a question. It isn't natively compatible with the DX, but I think it can be worth a little work.

That sounds like it could be the coolest ROM ever. It'd be even cooler if the Paranoid Android settings can be combined with it too.
What phone are you all going to build this ROM for first anyway?

Right now we have either 7 or 8 devices working. We're shooting for at least 12 by release. Miui.us is not only behind this rom, but most of the people involved are the Miui.us folks. 0xD34D and I are the devs atm with other folks working on theming, logos, Web site, etc.

Device wise for me, I'm working on the S3 since that's what I personally have. I may help out with the TF201 (Asus tablet) since I have one of those as well.

What ever happened to the sleep function? Was it not effective? Will it be back in the version yet to be released? Or the music player at the lock screen cause I really like that I don't have to actually select a song, just double tap the lock and press play

OK I have a question... I have a friend on miui 2.1.6, it's not good and he's been putting up with it for awhile I want to keep him miui..is this a good ROM... And its been a long time since I tinkered with this... Can I wipe the usuals and flash?
