I did. But I was on 5.4 and now going to 6.29 free wifi tether for root users doesn't work.. and my phone froze twice already and had to reboot. Does any tether app work on this build?

I use android tether and it works for mine that's the only one I use on any rom I used ,I've had good luck with it I use my iPod or iPad of it haven't used a pc but don't see why it would be a problem,good luck

I'm using the one that most of us use. The green not yellow, I think 2.07 I'll look later when I get time.

I've tried so many but none are ever quite MIUI and I wind up back. I didn't mind terribly the ICS blackice 40.5 I tried but in the end same stuff is broken and I like MIUI better.
I liked CM7 on my DINC but when I flash it on DX I wind up SBFing because it won't boot. For GB I didn't mind YACKS and liquid ICS(really GB but had some weird quirk I hated that I can't remember now) but my go to until this recent run on 2.6.29b2 is always Wizard's 5.12 if I just need everything to "just work"

Anyone found a way to shut off hard key lights in this? Unless I missed it I didn't see it in the boot menu like wiz 5.12 and no advanced options under auto brightness either. Thanks

This is the tether I use that works. I'm using 2.07 on left side seems like a few months ago I tried the beta(yellow) and think I had issues.

I tried the yellow, green, and 207 and they still don't work for some reason but they did on 5.4. Weird cause I got a bunch of warnings when I wanted to tether, all about giving it root permissions but I never got that many before. When I click to tether it just stays stuck on the starting part... do I need superuser or wtf? Its annoying. Thanks for all your help though

Did you try miui tethering first by chance? It seems like one time I tried miui built in tethering and after it failed tried other solutions and got similar results with all the pop ups. Try a fresh install and run 2.07 fresh and see what happens.

Aww miui's doesn't work? But I didn't try it. Here's my problem now, it gets stuck on "tether starting..." and, ALL BY RANDOM, it may say on the notification bar that it started, or I will hold the back button to exit; either repeat or it will open with it up and running. When it does connect I get the same problems as I did on 2.5.4 where it would connect for like 10 minutes then DC then had to connect again then decides it self if it wants to work good or not; now, when that happens I go back to step 1 where its all random. I feel like going back cause its just causing more problems but I'm just gonna get internet soon haha. (That's the problem) but in the mean time I'd like it to work but this version is better

I only tether rarely so I may just not see some of those issues like disconnect after 10min. I'll try messing with it some more and see what happens.

Are you using android tether app im using cm9 and getting same issue tether still works but gets stuck on the starting screen and also the stopping screen i know they just updated the app and that seems to be when my issue started it was doing on miui also for me that was the main reason i restored to my cm9 nandroid but when i restored i still had old vesion of tether and it work fine until i updated it

Make sure you use underscores and no spaces in the rename. I learned that the hard way and tested it to be sure.

Phatreno, it's working for me but I'm way back on 2.5.4. I actually have the same problems as you on 2.6.29 if you didn't read the earlier posts

I read the post that's why I went back to 2.6.22 from 2.6.29 and was using 2.7.6first that's when the problem started I also used cm9 in between miui if you readmy post you would see that I was running 2.6.22 with the same problem that's when I switched to Wizards miui havnt had a chance to try it but like my post said never had a issue with tethering on any of these roms until about a week ago ,also sbfed before installing roms

Finally tether works great on wizards final miui,forgot how muched I liked that rom!
