version differences, and builds

what is the difference between these "ported" version of MIUI, MIUI.US-D1 1.5.20

they are both by the same person, are the top ones just personal mods that the dev makes? will droid 1 uses ever get to try out these newer builds MIUI 2.3.23? just installed/got into this rom scene and am damn confused by all these versions flying around, then there's miui android

started with cyanogen, but then found miui (so badass), just trying to get the latest version goin. and what the heck is miui v4 is that the official chinese build?

Miui version mean the date china releases every rom, which is every friday . So 2:3.23 mean march 23 don't worry about the 2 in the beginning. 2.4.9 is the latest and tomorrow fridad should be 2.4.13
