OK, I think I know what I should have done. I fell back to cm-7.1.0-RC1-encore (mainly because I was stumped over the back-button question), so the following is based on Button Savior under cm-7.1.0-RC1-encore...so I may be wrong.

Button Savior requires superuser authority to enable the left-arrow to be configured as "back". On the home screen (under cm-7.1.0-RC1-encore), I pressed the thingy (technical term) on the right-middle of the screen to open the drawer that shows the button savior buttons. I pressed the left-arrow button, and a window popped-up asking me to authorize superuser access. Once I allowed this, the left-arrow worked as a back button.

When I go back to try MIUI again, I'll try this to confirm the above is correct.

    Hope this helps.

I expect I'm missing something obvious. Thanks in advance for any help.
I'm using Zmooth which can be find free in the market that will allow you to use gestures to go back, search, and menu. Only thing is, there will be a small blue box on the bottom of each screen. If you can deal with that, I believe this is the best option for the Nook ATM.

Just flashed (fresh install btw), and I've been having some problems:
    1. WiFi gives me poor connection (Even though i'm next to the router) (Fixed with reboot)
    2. Menu Button doesn't work (all the others do work though) (Fixed with reboot)
    3. Bluetooth works but when I try to make a call it freezes up and reboots

Just wanted to give a big old THANKS!!! for this. I've tried Froyo and CM7 and they've disappointed me with FCs. So far MIUI is working great. Love it.

I'd really like to see an update

Ditto.... any news on the update for nook? We've missed two revs since 1.8.5 - 1.8.12 and now 1.8.19. Not that anyone owes it to the community, but it'd be cool to see active developement.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1205822 - I did this last Thursday and I've got a nice miui bootable sdcard to play with. I've got cm7 installed and not sure about wiping it for miui but it's nice to have the bootable disk to see what it's like.

Hey thanks! I am pretty good with the Evo side of things, but I just got the Nook and trying to scratch through everything kinda has me on sensory overload. I have looked at so many options for the Nook its amazing...

The NC doesn't actually have to be rooted. It boots from a bootable SD card if one is present.

Create the disk mentioned in the XDA dev thread

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1000957

drop the miui file on it

rename to match the cm naming convention (ie, match the filename to one like cm_encore_full-168.zip so the script will find it)

    power down the NC

    insert the disk

the cm7 dual boot script will pick up that you have a compatible ROM and set the card up for you.

It'll reboot and away you go.

I needed a second reboot to get button savior to work, and I dialed the resolution back out to 160 and did some build.prop hacking to look at getting Netflix going.

Netflix isn't happening yet. Neither with the HTC nor the samsung mods....

Very nice, though - I like this mod quite a bit.

    Update?

Is there any plans to update the nook color to the latest ROM release? Has any gotten PDANet bluetooth DUN to work? My nook color and Evo 4G connect but no data transfer occurs. This works on CM7 Nightly 164.
