It depends on your phone and your ROM. For Gingerbread, you must have a GB kernel, and ICS an ICS kernel. For MIUI you need an AOSP kernel (android open source project), i.e. not a Sense kernel.

Most CM7 kernels will work on GB MIUI. Read: most. You may have issues here and there. For most HTC devices, I would recommend Tiamat (http://tiamat-dev.com). Others you can find in the "Android Development" section for your phone on XDA.

For your MT4G Slide on ICS leebert2004, try out Tiamat.

His ICS kernels, for others (MT4G slide only has ics kernel listed), the ICS kernel is the "022112" one, the rest are GB as far as I'm aware.

If you don't like it and want to get back to the kernel that comes with MIUI, simply reflash the ROM zip without wiping anything.

I didnt know you should only run specific kernels --- I thought any JB kernel would work on latest build for Galaxy Nexus (Toro)?

I installed Popcorn Kernel 11.7 seems fine. Should I switch to Franco's?
