alrighty, 2.3.23 R1 is up for download on miui.us (link to thread in op here if you dont want to search)

• 2.3.23 weekly miui.us rom
• updated goo manager, supersu, google voice, maps, su binary
• yes miui decided to add multiple data icons to cdma status bar...and since we're a cdma rom...yeah...if many hate it, im pretty sure i can revert it
• centered clock
• please do not use this rom as a base for your port w/o lithium76's and my permission (it wont work anymore for if you try to port...it will just bootloop)
• fixed torch (issue in miuisystemui)
• setting "none" as ringtone/notification no longer fc's
• added youtube (since it mostly works now)
• there were major changes in miui this week:
  
  • settings has been redone
  • huge framework changes that make porting easier for cdma phones
  • data wipe required

NEGATIVES

• there are graphical glitches in popups and other areas...i dont know at this time if it is due to the massive changes in the miui framework and its stuff they are working out, or i edited something wrong...i dont plan on investigating it much this week just cuz im curious if it fixes on its own or if i need to do some work on it

I love the 4.0 update guys some good work but I'm having problems with the play store not launching, just repeatable force closes.

The issue with the softkey can be fixed by going to settings>display>brightness, and then adjusting the brightness and resetting to default.

As for the market crashing, push this adb command:
adb shell
killall drmserver
(its listed on nitsuj17's second post).
However- on xda, they have a .zip with a more permanent fix floating around somewhere around page 27- but i have yet to flash it..
as far as the camera (bossmafia), people say it doesnt work, but i found if you take a picture, the camera WILL work and the screen will turn on. Only every time you take a pic you need to take a random "black screen" pic first. to get the screen/flash to work again.
Someone somewhere said that the angel camera app works better from the play market but i havent tried it myself

As for troubleshooting, i've found a few issues and if no one else mentions here or on xda (didnt see anything about them yet) i'll re post them to xda, but thus far:
when an alarm goes off, miui goes to the default unlock screen and not the one that is set.
does anyone else have issues with the headphone jack? mine wont work on this rom but it could just be bad hardware.
the new miui4 lockscreen still has chinese characters on it

its a weekly rom, so choosing whether or not to upgrade week to week is really up to you...i post a pretty detailed changelog each time, and certainly do highlight when major things are fixed/changed

the initial release of ics miui4 for the inc2 by me was in mid february since then heres the weeks that have been covered:

2.2.10 (miui-au)
2.2.17 (miui-au) (2 releases)

2.3.16 (2 releases)

2.3.30
2.4.6 (no release)
2.4.13 (no release)

so by my count, thats 12 potential weeks of miui4 updates for the inc2, and i had versions out for 10 of them!!!

and of the two i missed: i was on vacation in cancun from april 6 until april 14 which explains why 2.4.6 was not released...was I supposed to ruin my vacation by staying in the hotel, tied to my laptop, to work on an update? and then how was I supposed to upload it? by paying for hotel wifi?

and as for 2.4.13, I didnt get back from mexico until late on the 14th, and had sun poisoning and missed the first 2 days back from work...when I did attempt to work on 2.4.13 I had rotten luck getting it to the point I felt it could be released, as it had too many issues too list (my port did, not saying 2.4.13 in general did)

that aside...do I get inc2 updates out every Friday like other device devs do? no, I usually dont. I really wish I could, but I have limited time to spend with it on Fridays, and then my wife doesn't particularly enjoy me being tied to a computer instead of spending time with her on the weekends...so typically updates get released on Monday/Tuesday.

I dont know of many devices without official ics (even most with it) that have a perfectly functional ics aosp, let alone ics miui...I am not amongst those furthering development on ics for the inc2, I merely use the base cm9 roms provided specifically by aerovan, and at best miui can only be as functional as his builds (and thats best case scenario)...also keep in mind that changes to the framework in aosp cannot be easily applied to miui4...the changes exist in java, and we can only edit the miui frameworks in decompiled state in smali (if you know what either are, you understand the difficulty)

there are constant changes to the base miui rom (which is why its a weekly release) and often "updates" or "fixes" break existing features and/or cause new issues...so thats not my fault

Last time I checked, this is a hobby for me....being held to an end user's timetable/standard (when the info is wrong anyway) is ridiculous, and makes me less inclined to enjoy this

In all honesty I am somewhat uneducated on how whole the development process works. I was just going off the experience I've seemed to have with MIUI as a whole. Who knows, maybe the problems I'm running into are my own doing and not the fault of MIUI or the ones developing it. Either way, I do love the rom and appreciate the work that goes into it. Perhaps if you listed off the issues, and the rom version and date you have loaded on the phone, we could help/let you know if we're having similar issues.

Anyone have a comment on the battery life and performance of this rom?

I'm currently running the latest (working) gingerbread and .7 aerovan..

I was running AOKP for a while but it was quite laggy after a while.. (maybe that was just me..)

I had no problem with superuser or su, whichever was actually working, in 2.4.27.

Today's notes for 2.5.4 say:

built in root permission app isn't working properly (fixed as of 2.4.20)

But when I try to run Titanium in 2.5.4, it can't get superuser permissions.

you need to open the lbe security app and turn on root permissions (it was on by default in 2.4.27 but for some reason was turned off in 2.5.4)...after that restart tibu and you ll be fine (or manually kill it/reboot then do it)
