Re: [ROM] MIUI.us v4 JB 4.1
Just passing along my latest experience:
Playing with 2.8.31 and I'm definitely still having the issue of an unlocked backlit but blank screen. Seems to be most prevalent when the screen times out. Camera takes pics, but I'm having some FC issues when trying to get into video or panoramic mode. Also, those modes force it to look glitchy, especially when screen auto-rotates. After taking a pic with camera, the image turns green but saves just fine. Have yet to try with Camera360 yet. The ROM seems pretty damn fast and smooth, so far!!
My method, for those that want to replicate it:
1. Back-up: (synced everything, then shut off sync and put phone in airplane mode) Messages & call logs with SMS Backup (to delete and make rest of process smoother and faster), all apps + system data (system data just to be safe) with Titanium, system apps additionally with MIUI Backup. Nandroid backup in CWM Recovery.
2. Full data/cache wipe
3. Flash: 4.1.1_2.8.31, then KangBang-Kernel-v0.7.2-test3, then Inspiremod 0.5 (all in same recovery session), reboot, reinstall Titanium, shut off sync and set in airplane mode
4. Restore: Link2SD first (my brain felt it was in good practice) from Titanium, then user apps and any missing apps, repaired market links, and system data (as needed) from Titanium, then system data (as needed) from MIUI Backup, then rebuilt index on Link2SD and rebooted
One quirk I haven't decided how to deal with yet is that I get prompted in Titanium about my Android device ID changing. I have chosen "ask me later" to see if I run into issues first. Anyone have a recommendation for this?Last edited by xpurtwitness; 09-03-2012 at 06:15 PM.

Re: [ROM] MIUI.us v4 JB 4.1
Hey people, I'm having a problem with my SD card on 2.8.24 (i'm currently downloading 2.8.31). Basically the Rom cannot detect my SD card, I have the latest KangBang kernel installed.
The rom either says that it has no sd card installed or USB storage is corrupted, i cannot use alogcat as it saves the log files to the SD. when in recovery mode i can mount and use my SD card just fine!
Any ideas? (as i said im downloading 2.8.31 now so apologies if this has been fixed.)
BeardI have zhe same problemI've had a similar problem. The problem was a corrupt file. Solution: backup all your (non corrupt data) from the sdcard and reformat it.Last edited by herowy; 09-03-2012 at 10:12 PM.

Re: [ROM] MIUI.us v4 JB 4.1
Just making sure... You have checked the settings when you boot up MIUI to see if you card is mounted or unmounted? Maybe your settings are to auto-mount the USB storage, which would make your sd card unavailable for your phone's file explorer. Just a thought. Also, after you format the card, have you re-partitioned it via CWM Recovery? I feel like there was a little convoluted process when changing SD cards, I'll have to see if I can find it--but if you format your sd card, then it's basically like using a new one, so there might be an extra step in there so the phone recognizes it.

partition table
As far as I know I have no partitions set up, I assume i haven't needed one in the past? Is this a new thing for JB?
What size partition do I need to set up? And swap size?
I have a 19gb SD.
Thanks,

Re: [ROM] MIUI.us v4 JB 4.1
I can't get past the boot (seems like it's in an infinite loop).
I've done the following steps to flash the rom:
- Went into recovery mode.
- Wiped system, cache and delvik cache.
- Flashed MIUI v2.8.31 (I've also checked its checksum).
- Restarted phone.
Also I tried flashing JellyBean - JELLYTIME for DHD/Inspire4g and I couldn't get past the boot either.
It seems like it's only JB which I can't get to work on my phone, because ICS and GB works perfectly.

Re: [ROM] MIUI.us v4 JB 4.1
Hey man you fixed my problem! +Thanks!
I basically created a 4gb partition with a swap size of 0, i don't know if that is the right thing to do but it fixed my problem.
(Could someone (in derp terms) tell my what the deal is with the partition table, as i said i have never had to make one before on an android device, it normally either does it itself or is not needed, i assume? Why is it different on JB?)
Thanks everyone for you support!

Re: [ROM] MIUI.us v4 JB 4.1
Hi All,
I flashed (MIUI.us 2.8.31.) to my phone yesterday. Earlier I used a MIUI.us 2.8.10
I’ve found some bugs:
• Usually I’ve got a black screen after unlock,
• The soft keys (home, menu, back, search) doesn’t light,
• I use a HTC headset. The headsets bottoms don’t function. I can’t pick up the phone.
Earlier ROM (2.8.10) doesn’t was these bugs.
Other:
How can I use the FM radio. It’s doesn’t work any MIUI ROM for me?
Please help me!
Thanks:
Lacika888
Sorry for my English.

Re: [ROM] MIUI.us v4 JB 4.1
An update has come out for Netflix, which adds Bluetooth and WiFi multicast support and which also, incidentally, works on this ROM (video playback and sound). It hadn't been working for me thus far since we switched to JB.

Re: [ROM] MIUI.us v4 JB 4.1
I'm so glad it worked! I'm not certain if the partition is necessary, but it is helpful if you are going to use a lot of apps, and would like them to be stored on your SD card to save internal memory. It's doubtful that you need one as large as 4gb, though. I think most folks are using 512mb-1gb and it's more than enough space. And I believe you're right on with a swap size of 0. Just remember that whatever size you make that partition, that is space that can't be used for storing music or other files, as well as using as a flash drive.

I have this odd problem with the messager app where it doesn't show the latest message. This has started happening since I upgraded to 2.8.31

I've noticed that Google Talk app is not logging in at all. Also, I'm guessing this is forthcoming, but no Toolbox lately.

Lock screen backlight issue
For folks that are experiening the the lock screen issue (screen unlocks, then goes to a blank but backlit screen, have to turn off screen and unlock a second time), I found this over at the MIUIAndroid forum, and am testing it out now:
I'm really curious to know how many people are experiencing it.That is a known issue. It happens when the first sound comes. You can not solve it but you can configure it to come much more less. You only have to turn off the screenlock sound. I did the same for dial pad touch tones and touch sounds.
