Yes It has been this way on MIUI for many builds. I know that when I adjust the brightness, they come on temporarily until the screen sleeps. Then they're gone again. Considering they are essential keys, I wish we could get a fix for it.

Hi guys, I just installed 2.4.24 on my Inspire 4G, applied the KangBang-Kernel-v0.7.5-test1 (As the one mentioned by blind is no more), and installed InspireMOD 0.5.
Everything works perfect except that from time to time some apps just go all crazy with the text, like in the image below.



Any idea how to solve this?

Make sure you don't have an app like WiFiKill, then make sure you router isn't connected to too many devices at a time.

I had wifikill installed and i thought that was the problem and it probably was but after wiping the entire device /system /data /cache and re installing the rom and i still had the issue. I then thought that maby some driver or something was still on so i installed htc stock ruu and went back to the rom and the problem was still where. Now I'm using the ics version and the problem is gone, so for some reason it only happens on jb builds.
I'll test again on 2.8.31 and see if it's still where.

I've encountered this too, had to reboot to get it back to normal.

I've also noticed that the Gallery app seems to crash sometimes while using the camera. Usually just seconds after camera app is launched. A reboot fixed that as well, at least temporarely.
Anyone else encountered these issues?

Do you have any issue playing videos with the KangBang-Kernel-v0.7.5-test1 kernel? I also tried it on Tuesday and when I played streaming video with either the Gallery or with MX Player, my phone would hot reboot shortly after starting playback.

Actually the first thing I tried with this new rom version and kernel was to record a 720p video and then playback it just to check. And I was surprised that both worked flawlessly. If it was a stream video, do you wan't to pass me the exact video so I can try in my device and get back to you?

Hi, I'm really new to the game but I'm having problems with getting the settings to load up. just crashes before I can get into my settings however I can still access specific things within "settings" such as screen security.

Actually the first thing I tried with this new rom version and kernel was to record a 720p video and then playback it just to check. And I was surprised that both worked flawlessly. If it was a stream video, do you wan't to pass me the exact video so I can try in my device and get back to you?

I found that videos in Kid Mode by Zoodles, for example, would cause the hot boot. I did learn from the xda thread that enabling the developer setting called "Disable HW overlays" resolves the problem for now. Without that setting I still have the problem with the newer 3.0.42 kernel as well, in e.g. the 01-Sep-2012 cm10 nightly build...

2.8.31 says 157mb but it's actually 183mb. also md5 doesn't match

Hey people, I'm having a problem with my SD card on 2.8.24 (i'm currently downloading 2.8.31). Basically the Rom cannot detect my SD card, I have the latest KangBang kernel installed.

The rom either says that it has no sd card installed or USB storage is corrupted, i cannot use alogcat as it saves the log files to the SD. when in recovery mode i can mount and use my SD card just fine!

Any ideas? (as i said im downloading 2.8.31 now so apologies if this has been fixed.)

I've had a similar problem. The problem was a corrupt file. Solution: backup all your (non corrupt data) from the sdcard and reformat it.

This is unbelievable! I did full wipe and upgraded from 2.8.10 to 2.8.31 and my problem is still where from .17 and .24. My phone keeps killing the internet connection in my entire local network. I had wifikill installed before but not now and even after multiple full wipes and the problem occurs in JB versions but not ICS. Its seems as I'm the only one with this problem. Does anyone have any idea that to do? because i want to run JB and not ICS... well rolling back to .10 now...

Can you connect your card to a computer without using android? If you can, do a diskcheck on it. Maybe your card is corrupt.

Does it go away after a reboot? I have had this happen to me also and have rebooted. That took care of it. It has repeated from time to time.

Hmmm, here's a summary of what i have done and whats happening.

I did a FULL wipe using Recovery mode including formatting my SD card (i always do a full wipe and format, i know i loose my apps but i like my system to feel new with every update, and have everything backed up anyway!).

I installed version 2.8.24 - Error started
I updated to KangBang-Kernel-v0.7.5-test1 and re flashed 2.8.24 - no success ( i could not find the older version that was recommended by blind - this is the newer version as far as i know)
I did a full wipe again and installed 2.8.31 - still no success

My SD card is a genuine Sandisk 16gb formatted in fat32

It works fine in a card reader and when mounted as usb in recovery mode

I have formatted it many times.

I have run a deep disk scan and found no errors with both windows and tune-up 2012

when i boot miui it says my usb storage (i assume it means SD card) is corrupted and needs formatting, formatting does noting. The error continues. When i try to access the SD card using a file browser or just the settings or an app such as camera it says no USB storage inserted.

In the storage settings no SD card shows up.

Hope you can help, i dont want to loose miui

Did you flash the kernel and then re-flash the ROM? You're going to want to wipe, flash rom, then immediately flash the kernel. and if you flash the kernal at a later time, then i believe you need to wipe dalvik first. Bad kernel flashes are enough to make everything go haywire.
