Dear Developer,
The contacts keep disappearing after about 24 hours and requires a reboot to restore. This issue started with my upgrade to 2.4x and has never come back to the stability of basic (gingerbread kernal) miui. Has anyone else had this issue?

I've had this occur once with the 2.5.4 update and twice with the 2.5.11 update. For me it doesn't happen regularly e.g. every 24 hours. Here is a synopsis:
o Contacts / People app - when I start it, the screen is completely blank (totally white). This will remain so at least as long as 15 minutes (that's how long I waited before pressing escape). Once I've pressed escape, then I get the prompt to Wait or Close the non-responding app. After having done so, running the app again yields the same results every time.
o Dialer / Phone app - there are two scenarios, the first of which occurs prior to force closing the phone app, and the second scenario is what occurs after having force closed the phone app once, for each subsequent starting of the app.
........1) When I start the app, the exact same thing occurs as I described above for the Contacts / People app. Including the need to force close the non-responding phone app.
........2) When I start the app, the dialer pad is shown on the lower half of the screen, and the upper half of the screen, below the status bar, is completely white except for "Loading..." printed in a large, light gray font. This "Loading..." state never completes - I've waited up to 15 minutes before pressing escape. When I press escape, the app exits (back to home screen or whatever, as usual).

In order to return the operation of these two apps to normal, a reboot is required.

I captured a logcat during the occurrence of the Contacts / People app scenario, and during the occurrence of the Dialer / Phone app scenario #2. I also made an adb bugreport prior to rebooting. Please let me know how I can send them to you if they would be helpful. I also have screenshots of the force close prompt dialog window in front of the blank white screen for each app.

Are your contacts being sync'd with Google or are you restoring them with some sort of backup app? I don't have this issue that you two do, but someone earlier recommended to sync with Google and to not restore them with any backup app.

Will there be more gb rom development from miui.us or are they gonna focus on ics roms only?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that and two other details:
1. Yes, I sync my contacts with Google. I have none stored in the phone or in the SIM card. I've never restored my contacts.
2. The third app affected is Messaging/ SMS. No contact names are shown next to existing conversations - only phone numbers - and new conversation recipients may only be specified with a phone number.
3. After force closing the phone app, and rebooting, a significant number of the most recent hours of the call log are gone.

Wifi tethering works for me, using that feature in the MIUI settings. I have AT&T, and for example my eldest daughter can play flash kid games and the like on her netbook while we're in the car, connected to my phone, the wifi hot spot, with her netbook's built-in wifi.

The latest build 2.5.11 has had a horrible effect on my battery! I am talking the worst I have ever experianced with this phone! And I have no idea why... I will attach some screen shots and maybe somebody can tell me why this is happening?

I'm sorry, I don't have this issue.. While not amazing, my battery life is doing alright:



I've never had amazing battery life on my Inspire, though.

Since my last post I have purchased a new battery and things have improved. This also fixed my phone shutting off with camera flash problem. Thanks for always keeping us in the know man!

Can't really tell you the best radio, it varies by location, but I'd stay away from flashing any RILs

I also want to report and I think I saw something like this in the forum. Contacts is FC, each time I try to search for a contact, the application it opens but the screen stays white and then a popup msg comes up telling me if I want to wait or close the application. Also, the Carrier ID/Name in the upper left corner disappears momentarily, tree dots appears and then comes back again.

Rebooting punto recovery clean cache and dalvik and the phone started worlking again.

This happened to me again, yesterday, and I was able to narrow down the cause somewhat. I went to Settings > Accounts & Sync, and then viewed the details of my Google account. Nothing had synced for about eight hours. I pressed menu > Sync now and observed that everything synced except for Contacts. I waited for about 90 minutes, and it never made any progress. I then pressed escape, and had to force close Settings. I went back to Accounts & Sync, and deleted my Google account. I re-added the account, and then viewed its details. Again, everything but Contacts synced. I waited about an hour, but no progress was made. I then rebooted, and thereafter the Contacts could sync once again. Is there a process in charge of syncing which I could try force stopping, to see if it resolves this problem without rebooting?

Strangely, I'm having a lot of trouble maintaining accurate location unless I use wifi. GPS takes forever to lock now and loses its location quickly. I keep appearing in other parts of the country. >_<

Also, when I choose to power off rather than reboot, it freezes with the ICS logo...

Can someone help m. I just flashed MIUI.us 4.0.4.2.5.11 ICS on my HTC Inspire however I noticed when I try to reboot to recovery it doesn't give me the option anymore. It only reboots the phone; and now I need to restore to previous rom and i can't
please help how to fix my issue

I've gone over how to boot your phone into recovery multiple times.........

1: Open the updater app, hit menu > reboot to recovery
2: Use ROM Manager to reboot into recovery if you use CWM.
3: Use `adb reboot recovery` or `reboot recovery` from Terminal Emulator
4: Power phone off, turn on while holding volume down, select "Recovery" from hboot options.

Google and/or reading the thread you're about to post in would be helpful.
