Well while our device is technically official, there is still work to do on it. The lag is only there because MIUI doesn't fully support our GPU.

Here is what many of you have been looking for. MIUI.us 2.6.15 with linaro optimizations included. I will be considering this build currently as a "beta" 2.6.15, so the non-optimized version will remain the "official" 2.6.15 release this week. If reports go well, the optimizations will be included in all future builds starting next Friday.

Because this build is significantly different from previous versions, I would strongly recommend doing a full wipe. You are more than welcome to try flashing ontop of previous MIUI versions, but if you have any issue, be sure to reflash wiping data to confirm the bug still exists.

    2.6.15 Linaro optimized build md5: c2b2e70080c32e1b6729f56494933e54

This build includes Gapps, so you do not need to flash another zip

All credit for incorporating Linaro optimizations into android belong to Linaro team, Cyanogenmod team, and Team Kang AOKP. I just made their work mesh with MIUI. Without the great work of those devs, none of these ports would be possible.

People say that if you play Microsoft CD's backwards, you hear satanic things, but that's nothing, because if you play them forwards, they install Windows.

If at first you don't succeed, paint it shiny white and put an Apple logo on it. You can make a fortune on upgrades.

I just signed up here to thank you, and hopefully this build will help on optimize the MIUI releases for GNEX, cause currently, it still lags compared to its AOSP counterparts xd

The native wifi tether issue and gps is in the base build of linaro for maguro, so that issue is not fixable by me in the porting process. The emoji issue I think I have a fix for, just need to verify because I never use emoji. Because of the issues I am looking at doing dual releases for a while. It seems that the CM9 / AOKP teams have put linaro on hold to work out the bugs, so those builds aren't getting updated. For that reason, these same issues will be present in all linaro ports. To put out the best bug free port I can, I will do an "official" port that does not have linaro and then another one with linaro. Hopefully that won't confuse too many people.

Are these weekly builds, actually built from source by MIUI.us or just translated (APKs and JARs) from the builds by the MIUI China team? I think the MIUI UK team just translates the APKs instead of building it from source. Pls enlighten me.

I will release a linaro optimized version if somebody wants it. GPS will be broken because linaro breaks it on maguro (but not toro for some strange reason). The overwhelming majority want/need GPS working, so the linaro build doesn't seem useful for maguro.

Is anyone else finding the last two updates to be very laggy or is just me?

I mean it is very serious in my case, the phone's slowness is very apparent in comparison to the usual MIUI rom.

Also to mention that I have tried both upgrade and fresh install in both instances seems to be the same.

I am not sure why the maguro build would be perform different from the toro build. I can only test on my toro hardware, but that build seems to be quite usable. There are occasional hiccups or pauses, but not often. I have run JB builds on my Gnex and MIUI is not as fluid, but that should only be expected. I think MIUI is very usable on Toro, so very confused as to why Maguro would be performing worse.

Re: [ROM] MIUI.us v4 [DEV] Maguro by leeech and magiman7

Just recently got my G-Nex and was excited to see there was a MIUI rom available. After installation it ran fine for about 5 minutes before the UI crashed. It kept crashing over the course of the next several hours so I figured it was just a bad flash. Did a complete wipe and reflashed. Same thing. Installing new themes does not work either, even the manually downloaded ones transferred from my PC will not install. It just flat out does not work. As long as I run a different launcher it's not so bad, but the MIUI launcher still crashes while running in the background which causes the phone to lag terribly.

The first time I had originally reinstalled all my user apps from TitaniumBackup, and the second time I waited because I wanted to make sure that any 3rd party apps that weren't default with MIUI wasn't causing the issue.

I would very much like to continue to run MIUI v4, but the way it is right now it's just entirely too unstable. Reverted to CM9 for now and looking forward to a better, more stable release of MIUI. Until then... thank you ever so much for the hard work you've put into the rom thus far!

    Running Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ (Takju).

    I'm starting to really...

Like this rom, it's the first time I use MIUI and even after trying JB which off course performs faster I don't want to switch back for now. The interface is just awesome and I have not experience any bug or crashes during the three days that I've been testing it... thanks a lot for this great rom!!!

I haven't had such an issue with miui. I think you should wipe everything if you are coming from any other rom. Do not restore apps with tibu. I ve seen user s complaining about miui not performing well, and the first thing I read is Tibu apps back ups; so that make me think that tibu is responsible for your crashes; I might be wrong though :-)

Yeah, that weeks release was broke. Sorry about that. 2.7.13 is real nice and there will be a new build tomorrow or Saturday. Give us another shot
