Try flashing the ROM with a full battery charge, worked for me and installed perfectly!

Tried a few times with battery >=99% (both plugged into wall charger and unplugged) and got same result. It locks up just after the boot screen. Thanks for the suggestion - I'll stay tuned.

I flashed the ROM and was bricked in a boot loop at the "Kindle Fire" logo for five days until I was able to get my hands on a factory programming cable. I tried it a few more times after that but with the same result.

Hey guys. I tried flashing this rom last night, but it would not boot up. I would not even see the MIUI bootsplash. I thought it was a bad download, so I checked the MD5 of the zip in my kindle, it did not match to the one posted on the OP. checked the copy on my PC and it was the same as the one in the kindle. I then re-downloaded, and again, it matched the previous files but not the one posted on the OP. So, either I'm downloading the correct file and the md5 on the op is wrong, OR the upload is corrupted. Please advise. Thanks.

I have downloaded the file on 3 devices numerous times, once via a seed box and twice on 2 different computers.
Everytime i get the MD5 of 7edf3a43cec249ac76770f7b57030e43 and the install fails for this, the last 2 previous MD5 ok and work.
Can someone please upload a working version with correct md5?

I can agree, that the md5sum now matches 630f4ac84e6396796e884179f7eebdb3 . But my problem is still the same. My KF hangs on the white/orange "kindle fire" logo.

Any suggestions? The KFU utility says my kindle is in "normal boot mode".

Just flashed ROM yesterday...I love the look and feel of it. It's smooth and nice.

I have a performance issue though. Sound effects and notifications play normal, but video (youtube) and music (google music) aren't playing any sound.

I've adjusted all volume levels. I've made sure that there wasn't any mute. I did notice that after I change the volume in the system notification tray, play music, then bring up the notification tray again, the volume bar is slid all the way over to low.

I'm having the same issues Pluberus described using the 4.0.4.2.4.20 rom. I find the battery life to be greatly reduced in "sleep" mode compared with stock. It discharges completely within about one day if I leave it unplugged. I've experimented with some settings but haven't found anything that improves standby time appreciably. Any suggestions? So far this is the biggest performance issue I've found. Thanks for the support!

Tried to ask this here, but I don't have enough posts (pretty annoying haha).

Anyway, I recently installed the latest MIUI ICS Rom, and am liking it so far. However, I have noticed a huge drop in battery life, and it takes an extremely amount of time to charge. I had it charging for almost 6 hours, but it only went from ~30% to ~50%. I then left it overnight (not charging; screen off, not shutdown), and it was down to 16% when I woke up 7 hours later. Went back to 2.2 MIUI, and it seems to be working fine now.

Is my case unusual, or is this just an issue with it being an alpha rom? I had no battery issues with MIUI 2.1.20 or stock.

New to this forum. Found it while looking for a way to convert my new Kindle Fire.

First issue I ran into in using the Kindle Utility was a bad driver. Had to find and install a different version. Had no issues rooting after that. However, the "Yellow Triangle" that everything references does not appear. I get a message at the bottom of the screen to press the power button to select menu which then brings up several choices. They allow me to return to the boot utility or boot the ROM.

Loaded the latest ROM and after the Kindle splash screen, it just turns black and nothing further. Had to use long press of the power switch to get it to shutdown. Was able to restore original software.

Loaded the one version earlier and got to the MIUI splash screen and it sat there forever.

No idea what I'm doing wrong, but I'm wondering if there is something set up poorly.

Any help is appreciated.

Just wanted to verify that I am also getting the bad battery life in sleep (it's almost like the battery just keeps draining as if it were on). The device also seems to need to be hard shutdown, possibly the software shutdown option is keeping it in sleep.

I also noticed that the volume did not work in youtube, and the volume slider just keeps going back down to nothing no matter how many times you turn the volume up.

The rom is great otherwise, and it's awesome to be able to use normal android on my kindle. Hopefully all the great devs are able to get some of the bugs worked out.

When i try to view app details in the settings, it crashes, and i can't see the notifications. i tried a load of different themes, but i couldn't get it to change. i'm not sure how to fix the settings either...

i really really want to use this rom. my only other suggestion besides fixing notifications and settings is to get rid of the apps that are unused. please help us out lol if you have any tips on how i can fix it myself, that would be great, too.

Same here. Even in airplane mode the battery is dying fast in sleep mode. Also doesn't seem to charge correctly from a completely dead battery. If u let it boot all the way up it blanks out and doesn't seem to charge. If I boot into recovery it will charge and once its charged a bit it will boot normally.

Hi folks,

I am totally new to this so please be gentle. I just flashed my Kindle Fire to this ROM, and I love it so much. One question: does this ROM (4.0.4.2.4.20) support for USB mounting when I connect my Kindle Fire to the computer? I cant seem to find any option in Settings to allow the Kindle Fire to be mounted and recognized by my computer.

just installed. looks and works great except wifi keeps trying to connect. fairly simple wifi setup and all other devices/machines connect fine. any idea what I need to change in the devices settings for wifi to keep a solid connection? it just loops and connects then drops, over and over again.

I'm really loving this ROM! Any update on the battery drain issue? Look like "cell standby" is sucking things down. Anyway to shut the cellular part off? For some reason it is not going off with airplane mode. Any feedback would be most welcome!
