Thanks, I must not have been paying that much attention during previous installs.

You would be waiting a month or more...

I have the worst battery life on an extended battery, juice defender and no GPS or LTE or NFC or screen brightness above 50 etc.

    Any tips? Anyone?

Are you using the stock kernel? I keep LTE, GPS, NFC, and Wifi on and don't use juice defender and I can get through most of the day on an extended battery. I usually need to plug in to charge in the evening if I am going to go out. I am on Wifi at home and work, so that may be part of the reason. I also do not use my phone for much graphically intensive, I don't watch videos or play games. Doing that will really eat up my battery.

What shows up as using the most battery?
People say that if you play Microsoft CD's backwards, you hear satanic things, but that's nothing, because if you play them forwards, they install Windows.

If at first you don't succeed, paint it shiny white and put an Apple logo on it. You can make a fortune on upgrades.

Yes to stock kernel. And stock baseband, etc. Wiped everything including batterystats. Also used battery calibration to set my mAh, etc. I sometimes let my phone keep charging way past the "charged" screen.

Screen by far with 47%. I'm at 58% after 4 h 10 min use. Media server comes in next at 19%, BeyondPod at 12%. I use BT for about 7 hours at work. Next is phone idle, cell standby, android OS & twicca at 5, 5, 4 & 3.

I don't have any games installed, have dark static wallpaper and hour or more refreshes on my mail, twitter & weather. I hardly if ever watch video on 3G, but I have complete crap service: a spotty bar or two of 1x and very a temperamental bar of 3G sometimes. Do you think it could be the radio over-working? What would radio show up as in the battery logs? Phone idle? Brightness is under 40%, I hate auto-brightness because it makes it too dark. I just thought getting an extended battery with double the amperage or whatever would at least add half the life if not more? I power cycled the battery full to zero charge 5 times when I first got it.

in my experience spotty service will eat up battery the most, because your phone is constantly searching for "better" signal. if it's at home you can get an antenna "booster" (not antenna extender) that typically runs $150 to $200 just make sure it has all freqs listed from 800 mhz to 1900mhz. it will work for all services and even boost some other signals within that range like radio and tv. you can even get these for your vehicle as well. When you are in an area with poor signal it's probably better to turn your data signal off completely and just use wifi if you can, this would really help conserve battery.
But other than that the Bluetooth is typically what can drain a battery quite a lot and if you are getting roughly 6 to 8 hours of use a day with it then you are doing pretty good.

Another is you don't have to wipe battery stats all the time this was put out by one of the Google devs, there are only specific situations you need to wipe battery stats and that is only when your battery life is going really wonky, like using 10% overnight if the screen is left locked and idle. If you do wipe battery stats, typically with an extended life battery you need to leave it charging 8 to 10 hours for 3 to 4 days in a row before it starts to properly report battery life. some tricks are to allow it run almost completely dead and then recharge and when you get 100% when the phone is turned on, then turn it off and plug it in to charge again until it says full battery or completely charged. usually after 2 years batteries start to lose some of their overall charge capability keep that in mind also.

I don't use much with my phone, i keep GPS turned on for occasional updates for various apps and i have my radio set to only use CDMA/3G. I do use the extended life battery as well. I mainly use my phone to keep up with news, weather and communication over various social apps, I'm on wifi when at home but on 3G when at work, i get 3 to 4 bars on 3G. I usually get 10 to 14 hours of use out of it a day before needing to charge when it reaches 15 to 20%.

    Re: Miui.us Toro v4 by Magiman7 and Project_Fien_X

I'm new to MIUI, and maybe I just don't know what I'm doing with it, but I'm having a major issue with my Google contacts. I've never stored any contacts in my phone since I started using Android years ago, I've always relied on my Google contacts. It's never been a problem up until this point, but now that I've flashed MIUI and added my Google account, it is showing ALL of the contacts I've ever emailed. This is a huge issue. Looking at my Google contacts, I have 3 main "sets" of contacts: My Contacts (and Starred in Android below that), Most Contacted, and Other Contacts. MIUI appears to be showing all of these categories under Contacts. This is a definite no-no. It should only be displaying My Contacts (and Starred in Android for Favorites.) What can be done to change this? If this can't be changed, I can't run MIUI, as this is unacceptable clutter in my contacts. Thanks.

There seems to be an issue with Google syncing G+ contacts and Gmail contacts. I get a lot of duplicate contacts because I have some people in my contacts as well as have them circled in G+. In the stock contacts app there is an option to select which groups of contacts you want to show up, but that option does not appear to be there with MIUI. The only quick solution I see is to set the option to only show those with a phone number. That will eliminate any of the email only contacts you have showing up.

Great, I'll give that a try. I flashed it at midnight last night, and didn't have time to sort it out, so I just flashed back to my JB nandroid and figured I'd play with it more this evening. I wasn't aware of the existence of this setting at the time. Thanks Magiman!

Thank you...I'll look into the antenna booster. Yeah, I've always done fine with the 8 hours BT at work. I got this battery several months so it can't be the time factor. I used to get slightly less than 20 hours on older MIUI versions AND with JuiceDefender extreme settings. IDK. I'll try the over charging trick, that I haven't tried so far. Thanks a lot buddy : ) -love these forums and the people on them.

    Re: Miui.us Toro v4 by Magiman7 and Project_Fien_X

there are a few quirks in the JB build so far... so I'm sure the .17 build will be later rather than sooner. plus if they are re-writing the miui.us toolbox for it then it will be even longer. I wouldn't expect .17 to be out this week to be honest. maybe they will by mid-week. but I would more/less look forward to this friday's build. I've been using the MIUIandroid.com build for toro and it works good, but Google Now doesn't work because GPS isn't getting a lock.

There will be a 2.8.17 release. It will not have toolbox, however.

When should we be expecting this release? Currently running the "other" MIUI JB toro build, but much prefer MIUI.us build!

    Re: Miui.us Toro v4 by Magiman7 and Project_Fien_X

    Hey again, just reporting back...

I over-charge my extended battery overnight or up to at least five hours and there is a MARKED improvement. I still run BT for my 8 hour shift and a signal booster was too expensive just to get twitter/ email updates. After my shift, I usually have around 50% with aggressive customized JuiceDefender settings that turn off data and just ping services less frequently etc.

Thank you for this solid advice : )
