    Re: MIUI v4 ICS (6-1-2012)

I have been using 6-1-2012 happily since it was released, but I wanted to report that I am having issues using any UPC scanner app. Anyone else experience issues?

I dl the barcode scanner app from play store and it would not work either. but that was when my toggles were messed up in the settings of camera and gps( i think some are backwards to be honest)

If I .correct the issue is the video camera. Mark used a temp fix on the last build for it. That is why it doesn't work.

    Re: MIUI v4 ICS (6-1-2012)

Is anyone else having issues with trying to update apps? At first I couldn't update any app over 8 MB without the phone telling me that it was there is not enough space on internal memory. Now it is starting to do it with all apps, regardless of size. Anyone else having this issue? Or does anybody know how to fix this?

I used Titanium Backup to move all apps to sd. It messed up two of them so I moved those back to phone. Downloads were fine after that. The glich I found was even though I have WI-FI ONLY turned off, I need to enable it for group updating or just 'accept and download' each app individually.
My question is when we get a rom update, how are we flashing over 2-6-1?
    Wipe Dalvik
    Wipe cache
    Install Rom
    wash, rinse, repeat?
    full wipe or something new?

    Re: MIUI v4 ICS (6-1-2012)

So far the only issues I've ran into are related to Titanium Backup...restored my old data and such and ended up stuck at the boot screen.

Is there a way to kick up the sensitivity for moving through home screens? When I try to switch screens it doesn't always take...it kind of rubberbands back.

Also, I can't add a Facebook account (from Accounts). It just sits at the Facebook loading screen. Is this supposed to happen?

You will have to add the facebook app. Then if you want your contacts to sync with facebook you will have to use a third party app.

FYI: I used facebook contact sync for my contacts and it works well.

Couple other things I noticed - I have the default ringtone and default sounds changed to what I want, but it doesn't look like they're being used.
For instance, I have a custom ringtone that I was using with normal MIUI. I chose the same ringtone when I set up this version, but when people call me I get what sounds like the default ringtone instead of my custom one.

Also, when I exit apps the (I assume it's the launcher?) icons take around 3 seconds to show up. The background shows up instantly, but nothing else for that first few seconds. I tried changing from a live background to a static one, but that didn't help any.

Change your ringtones/notifications through the themes. Go to themes> mix> then you can change all of your tones there.

Not sure about the icons in the background. Try SetCPU. I have it and I have no lag. I have it set at 1075 max and 384 min.

I had no idea about having to use the themes...I thought the system settings would override the theme settings...

I am already overclocking using No-frills CPU (1.037 max, 691 min).

Edit - Not liking having to manage sounds through the theme app...there's no option to change the sound for SMS notifications. That's just nit-picking for me though. Really loving this rom!

You can change your sms notifications the same way you change your ringtone, through the theme manager. You just need to change it in "Notifications".

I open the Theme app, go to Mix, and I've changed everything possible under "Ringtones" (boot audio, Ringtone, Notification, and Alarm). Still no luck.

Is the browser in this rom miuis own, can we get it to work on older version of miuis rom? Or better yet have the chrome bookmark sync adapter apk work on older roms. As the older version for some reason dont sync up?

I've been seeing Facebook crash when tagging people in posts, also when simply trying to post a normal status (no pictures or tags). Has happened a couple different times.

Also, every now and then I can't open anything. It acts like it's pulling the app open, then just goes back to the home screen. This is fixed by a reboot.

Camera app has been crashing when trying to record video. Also, when selecting "external storage" option (for saving), the phone either doesn't actually save the pictures, or it doesn't know where it saves them to.

I'm guessing that he isn't coming back because he hasn't posted here in some time.

That's the one and only thing I've disliked about this site from the beginning - lack of communication. I know that everyone here volunteers their time. I get that. But how hard is it to leave a quick post "No updates this week" or "I'll no longer be updating the DINC ROM" or "I'm away for the next three weeks and will be unavailable". As for Mark's status - nobody knows since there hasn't been a peep from him in a while. If he's given up on DINC because he wants to develop for his new phone, he has every right to do so and should not be faulted for it. But it would be nice to know what we should or should not expect as far as DINC development is concerned.

Sorry for the rant. My intent was not to offend anyone, but make a simple point. It's bothered me for a long time and I felt it was something that needed to be said.

I have been told Mark is still dev for Incredible. Hopefully this is true. Mark can get busy at times, the fact he hasn't posted tells me he is very busy.

Communication is always nice but he does do this in whatever free time he has not a job.
