Phone freezes when i make a call on MIUI 2.1.20

Randomly when i tray to make a call, the app freezes the screen.The call app begins to counter, like sombody answerd, but i can-t hear anything.After a few seconds the call app. needs to be restarted, but my phone looses signal., and i need to restart the device.Is this a general bug or i may doing something wrong?

I'm having the same issue on the miui 2.1.20 mod by wajk, called wiui on xda. I guess the bug originates from miui sources and not any modifications made by wajk looking at this thread.

update to 2.2.10 ^^ I having no issues with calling or otherwise (yet) ;-)

After updating I could make one call and the second call I tried gived me again a blocked phone...

I suggest starting over... backup (however you choose) all your important stuff.

Flash 2.2.x, root it & install recovery... then install latest MIUI build ^^ restore your important stuff (I'd be inclined to stay away from restoring any system settings etc.)

Happens on 2.2.17 too...and has nothing to do with screen protectors etc... The process phone crashes, and sometimes just a reboot won't get network connectivity back. I have to go and select my baseband again in defy baseband chooser app and then reboot...

Nope, I have normal SOC Camera defy. The problem stopped after I stopped using the call recorder function. In my experience once it starts, a full wipe and a fresh start is required. Then I don't enable call recording, the problem doesn't occur.

Right now on 2.3.16 WIUI since it was released.

I have the same problem, I then run a "top" command on adb shell, and the process mediaserver was consuming almost 100% of the CPU, so the problem seems to be on mediaserver when the record start.
