Changing Icons through "Themes" not working?

I've noticed this on the past couple releases, and I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

When I try to select different icons through "Themes", they don't change. It says it is applied, but nothing happens.
If I change the default theme, everything changes, EXCEPT for the icons.
I've also applied the new icons through "Themes > Customization" and rebooted. Still, nothing changes.

Any ideas? It's obviously not a HUGE deal, but I'd like to have the option to change to something more my style.
Has anyone else been having this issue? I searched, but didn't come up with anything.

    Thanks!

I'm on the latest build for the Droid x from wizard and my icons change when i apply an icon theme. You might want to reflash the ROM. You could try flashing the rom again with just a cache wipe and a dalvik wipe. if that doesnt work then reflash with all the wipes.

Yeah, I'm not sure. It's been like this through several upgrades and SBFs, including full SD card formats. So I've definitely wiped everything multiple times. They used to change, versions ago, back in August/September. But since then, they've been the same. I am using ADW launcher, but they used to change with that Launcher, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it?

Dude your icons are changed, there is nothing wrong with your phone or miui. You're using adw, that's the problem. Adw doesn't support icons that are not from an adw theme. That's why they are not showing up. use a different launcher. They show up on Go launcher, miui launcher, and i think launcher pro also. For the miui theme icons to show up in adw, you need to extract them from the themes icons folder in the .mtz file and then stick them in a folder on your sd card, and apply them one by one. the stock miui icons are never going to show up if you're using adw lol. Ps by the way i just used the icons from my miui theme, put them on my sd card, then in adw long press on the icon, hit edit, then choose select picture, go to were i put my icons, choose one, and it worked. I don't use adw launcher but i just tried it to see if it would work and it did. The only catch is the icons in the app drawer will not be changed, just on your desktop. So all those times u sbf'd was for nothing. There was never a problem.

But if you would reread my last post, they used to show up on ADW. They have since stopped. That's what I am confused about. I've been using ADW with Miui the entire time. I'll maybe give Go another try. I used Go back when I was on Liberty.

Well they updated adw, sooooo they don't work anymore. Lol adw had a major update a couple months ago and changed a lot of things. I'm using adw right now on miui, and my icons from my miui theme don't show up. It's adw, thats the problem. They show up on go launcher, go into preferences, visual settings, icon, then choose icon style, then choose default style. Then go launcher will use the miui themes icons. Or you can use the miui launcher. But i can make go launcher look identical to the miui launcher theme wise. Personally for me, the miui launcher is the best launcher out of them all. I happen to like ios so miui launcher is like ios but with way more freedom and options. If you want an app drawer, stick all the icons into a folder, then use that folder as your app drawer. Or use the extended settings mod, or alt drawer mod.

Thank you for your help. I downloaded GO Launcher again. It seems to have had many updates since I last used it. My custom icons are showing up on GO now. That's frustrating that ADW changed that. I must have missed it somewhere along the line. I like having an app drawer, so I prefer a different launcher.

You're welcome. Go launcher is a beast with options. No other launcher is close. And it has it's own theme store with a ton of themes. You can mix and match just like in the miui theme app. You can mix and match pretty much any combination of themes you can think of. It got awesome transitions. Go launcher ex has updates all the time. Not like some apps that update once a freaking year. I think you will like go though. It's fast too! You will be messing with options for days.

Actually you cab use Launcher pro and apply your own icons. Go to Launcher Pro/ preferences/Themes/ and uncheck "use theme icons". Now reapply your MIIU Theme
