best kernel
Whats the best kernel to use on the evo shift running miui? Im not sure if this is due to the kernel but after charging my phone all night, once i unplug it in the morning the battery charge will drop to like 94%...i wanna try a "battery saving" kernel to see if anything changes

I'm not sure about your problem but I'd just try to clear battery stats from the clockworkmod recovery---advanced---clear battery stats.

Mine does this as well but battery life is stellar with bcnices tiny SIO SLAB kernel on kernel manager.
And no he means in your recovery on your phone.

Best kernels imo are bcs and 99percents though i havent tried and of scaries.. his ratings arent as high as bcs and 99 on the kernel manager lite app.
To dude who mentioned 94% when waking up in the morning. Its a battery saving technique. Your phone will charge to 100 then stop charging until it drops back to 90% then will start charging again back up to 100% and so on... that way its not just repeatedly charging 1 percent of your battery all night long.
To properly wipe battery stats let phone charge to 100%, boot into cwmr, go to advanced settings and wipe battery stats now reboot phone, let it completely die this time around, then recharge all the way back to 100% again. Do this for the next few cycles. (Try and do this in general and you wont have to wipe battery stats all the time)
Edit: ive been using the sparksco kernel lately wish is ran at 184 like 99s other work other then that its running just as well as id hope as 99s and bcs.Last edited by mfpearl; 07-05-2011 at 04:50 AM.

I use Tiamat 1.1.0 with the latest MIUI. After I did the battery calibrations this is what I was getting. In case you can't see it, it's 32 hours and 15 % battery left. I run the kernel on default settings which is 258-1096mhz smartass, no extra cpu tuners. I get around 2050 on my quadrant benchmark test. Overall, great combo for performance and battery. Love this phone.

Yeah I am digging pershoot right now. Really looking forward to the next tiamat release.
Edit: been switching back and forth between pershoot and tiamat for months. tiamats smartass governors seem to run at lower clock speeds on average. Saving me more battery. My vote so far goes to tiamat.Last edited by mfpearl; 12-26-2011 at 06:46 AM.
