    Android army vs iPhone

Hey guys I'm doing a speech on why Android is better than the iPhone. If anyone could comment and give me good arguments and facts it would be much appreciated!

Choice. You can find an android in a variety of shapes and form factors. Keyboard, no keyboard, no problem. Also, you can customize alot even before you root. You have to jailbreak an iphone to get close to the customizability that android has stock.

Correct MIUI pronunciation: "Royale with cheese "

    * It's open-sourced, on the other hand, iPhone is in Apple's hands, a more likely control-freak. They don't like anything you customize on their products. Take this for example: people were getting frustrated to hold the phone still to get a good shot and press the touchscreen to take a picture. It would have been much easier if you would be able to make one with the volume buttons. A developer then made a modified version of the camera application, which gives users the ability to take pictures with the volume buttons. Apple removed the app from the App Store, and said: "The volume buttons are not made to take pictures". A few days later, Apple updated their camera app and made the same feature available for it's users.
    * As @DragonsofCP stated, you can customize it the way you want.
    * It's faster, in a CPU-manner and networking speed, proven in many experiences. Just hit Google or YouTube for sources.

    Here's what comes to mind.

    - Android marketplace is less regulated than Apple's app store (can be good or bad).
    - Android phones support flash (depends on hardware).
    - Android phones offer more hardware variety since Google does not manufacture the phone (parallel to Windows vs Apple).
    - Android's marketshare worldwide is outpacing Apple's so Android presents greater accessibility.
    - More carriers support Android than iPhone.
    - By some standards (not my opinion), Google services are paradigms for computing and advertising, and they are natively built into Android.
    - Google Navigation (for Maps) is built-in and free on Android.
    - PC connection via Android is more versatile.
    - Android lets you set default apps (last I checked, iPhone is lacking that functionality).

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of right now. (Of course, there's an equal list of reasons why the iPhone is better, but I'm very satisfied with my current phone/OS.)

    So many things.......
    Start with music
I archive my CD's as flac files. My phone plays them, the iphone does not.
I also have many files as ogg and ogg vorbis. I can play those too, iphone/itunes does not.
Speaking of itunes, while it is idiotproof for the technologically declined, it is severely limited in what it can do.
My music player plays the lyrics of songs if I want, does theirs?

    As mentioned.... themes....
There are hundreds of premade, and I can make more. I can have an iphone look in the morning, ICS (Black Ice theme) for lunch, and stock android for dinner.

I can run widgets. Anything from sense looking, and any thing else I want. The shade in miui is the most useful thing ever. All major quick settings for functions (wifi, data, etc at a glance and a long press gets me into the more complicated settings.

Folders in Miui. I can group the apps how I WANT, however method into madness way I want. Not how steve jobs et. al or anyone else thinks they should be.

I am sure there are more things, but my wine glass is empty and supper calls.

    Good luck with the speech

And 1 ore thing you should consider in your mind that Apple is still the dominant smartphone in the U.S., selling tens of millions for the year, 16.24 million in the holiday quarter alone. Android may lead by sheer volume, but as a singular device, unless Apple's quality falls off a cliff, the iPhone is America's smartphone of choice. Like it or not. Don't underestimate it.

    All the best to you......
