Says I'm always in 4g which I know isn't true anyway to fix this

Maybe it's your theme. Try applying another status bar in theme manager/customize

I tried a couple of different themes and none worked. Any specific themes you recommend? Do you think it has anything to do with my carrier, Verizon?

Works
Changing your theme does help, although not all themes work in solving this issue. One that does is blue ice. Thanks for the help!
