few questions for knowledgeable OG owners...
**WARNING! THIS A VERY LONG POST!**
lol
ok, so my roommate gave me his moto og when he got his upgrade a few months back so that way i can have a backup phone, cuz he knows my addiction with flashing things, so in case i brick or smash my dinc...like i did my eris lol
....anywho, i wanted to root it back when he gave it to me, but at the time, the ota frg83g update was preventing a root method, but then somewhere i came across a thread explaining a method that involved "catching the boot" that was supposed to stop the update from installing since it was like a "set at boot" update or whatever, n that derailed me from goin through with it, cuz ive always had a htc phone n they all pretty much have the same, very simple rooting method.
...but yesterday, i was bored, n decided thay it was time for me to root the og...so i go online n google how to root it, n i find this "soup or root" program claiming to be a one click root for the og n other moto devices. it pretty much says to dl n install the prog (it has all the necessary drivers n everything built in) turn on usb debug, connect to computer, click "root" button, wait for confirmation of finish, n enjoy ur now rooted device!
....followed eveything exactly as it said, it does what it said....the phone reboots no prob, i reboot again, lt it load, go in n check for superuser, its there, i go n dl a overclock app and the miui rom for the Motorola droid 1, n shut off my n try to boot into recovery (holding "x" key as i power up, only to get to a black screen with the image of a triangle with an exclamation point in the center with a phone in front of it.....phone is unresponsive to any button press so i drop the battery n try yo boot to hboot/bootloader (camera+vol down+power buttons) n get another black screen that says the following:
bootloader
2c.7c
battery ok
ok to program
connect usb
data cable
...once again, unresponsive, except the power button seems to shut it down, n itll perfectly boot up just like before "rooting" it...so i go check system info, n nothing has changed at all, same android version n build n eveything, the exact same!
....so i cant check if i have s off or not, but the funny thing now, i open my overclock app "milestone overclock" (which states it supports the droid 1) it gives a "load module" option, i hit it, superuser pops up sayin its askin for permission, i allow, n now im able to move the freq slide, which stared @ 550mhz, i go to 600, hit home, open app drawer, open opera mini, n its working good, so i slide it to 800, n do the same, n still good! i do this all the way up to the max @ 1200mhz....it is very fast n seems stable...very stable lol
....so im sure if ur still reading this (thank you btw, for hangin on w/ me lol) u know what im about to ask....how do i get recovey & hboot/bootloader to work? n do i have full root or what? any help will be totally appreciated by me!

S-off/hboot does not exist on a Motorola device, that's HTC.
Download 'ROM Manager' from the market and "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery".

yeah.....i now realize im an idiot n that moto & htc r completely different types of phones n wont have the same types of screens....go figure lol but yeah, i got it all figured out now thanks....except the oc app i was using, "milestone overclock" no longer loads the module....but the rom i flashed (liquid gingerbread....i think) has its own built in oc so......uninstall lol

I didn't quite see your one question answered.
For bootloader, once you get to the exclamation mark, hold vol+ and then hit the camera key (at least on the Milestone).
