CM9! ICS! Huawei U8800! Fighting!

Hello! I am a young man from China, one of Huawei U8800(Ideos X5) users. I think there are a lot of people using the phone around the world. I have the confidence because U8800 has a good quality and is not so expensive. Many of us are using ROM by CM7, or other modified ROM, including MIUI by Stockwell or Mengluole (China) which is also based on CM7.

Now CM is collecting data from the phone using their ROM. CM will make ROMs (CM9) based on Android4.0,ICS for the phones used by the majority. Our U8800 now ranks about 90th (Here is the link: http://stats.cyanogenmod.com/). We need to work together to let CM know our U8800 and pay attention to it.

How to support U8800? Firstly, you must check you "device" name. Use "Root Explorer"(RE), enter folder "system" and find file "build.prop". Then open it and check the line "ro.product.device=u8800". If not, open "build.prop" using "Text Editor" and change the line to the above. (Many of us may change the "device" name for the Gameloft game, if we don't change back, our phone will be recognized as a wrong device!!!!)

Secondly, open setting---CM setting---System---Data Stats, then click! (Make sure that your phone can be connected to the network.)

If you have installed another ROM, like MIUI, which deleted the "CM Settings". Don't worry! Download the attachment "CMStats", and use "Root Explorer", copy it to "system/app", then change its "permission" like this √√〇；√〇〇；√〇〇；〇〇〇. Then click it and install. Reboot and you'll have a new notice. Open the notice and you'd better choose the second option "Preview Data" to make sure the "device" name is correct. If not, use the method above to change back. Finally, "save settings"! OK! Done!
