Contacts Backup With Photo

When I export my contacts to a single VCF file, only textual data is backed up, but photos are discarded. Is there any setting to included photos, or an application that will do this on its own? I'm on MIUI 108260 and I'd like to update (if anyone can tell me some major changes, it'd be nice! im mainly interested in speed and battery life improvements).

Just save your contacts to your google account... When you update, don't wipe data but only dalvik and cache and your contacts won't be lost... Neither the pictures.

Syncing to my google account uploaded all my photos and contact information from my phone.

When I update MIUI and I decide to wipe all data (I like clean installs), I'm assuming that when I setup my phone to sync with my Google account it will download them all with all their content?

To note, I have been busy today trying to get the Facebook contact pictures (the ones from Friendcaster, not the official Facebook app due to a higher resolution) synced to Google and MyPhoneExplorer. They wouldn't sync. The main reason I wanted to do this, is because everytime I log out of Friendcaster, the contact pictures gets removed too. So if I had a backup of my contacts with the profile pictures, I could just simply sync it back after logging out (planning on staying logged out).
Does anyone have any experience or good tips in this particular area?
